Re: Compatibility of FP 98 to Windows XP

Of course. Windows XP is compatible with products, especially Microsoft products, made for previous operating systems. Frontpage doesn't really require much so you can install that with XP.

Chrome: hi, I cant run google chrome, opera, firefox or mi...

Google chrome, Opera, Firefox should work on Windows 7, but you can try to making a shortcut (or if you have one already - right click it, hit properties, and go to the tab 'Compatibility'- then choose Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista) and then see if it works or not, please reply back to tell me if it worked or not.

Hi I have just updated my laptop to win 7 but i,m old fashion and still use Frontpage 98 yep I now old hey is there anyway I can get this to run on windows 7 or am i up for a new version

Like you I use Windows 7, and can tell you instantly that some older Microsoft programs do not work with Win 7, whilst some other ones do. If you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate you can try running Frontpage in Administrator and Windows XP compatibility mode.

Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate instructions:

A. Right Click on the Program name if installed (Could also try with install too if not installed)
B. Click on 'Properties'
C. Select 'Compatibility Mode'
D. Try using the different 'Compatibility Modes'. I would try 'Windows XP Service Pack 1' first, if this does not work, try 'Windows 98'
E. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'

F. Right click on the program name that you selected compatibility mode for above, and select "Run as Administrator"
G. Follow any further instructions

If this does not work, then it will probably be cheaper to find a used newer version on a site like eBay. Note that Frontpage 2002 has Windows 7 issues too, so please check out the following links.

Good Luck

I want to download more golf courses for the Jack Nicklaus online golf tour where can I download these from I do realise that some of these courses may be about ten years old but if you have info for me...

Hi there:

As far I understand the software you ask about is about 10 years old, bu here is it :
Remember that maybe for run this gam on windows xp you maybe need to run the compatibility under windows 98. You do that in this way : find the icon on the desktop of the game, highlight it and right click on the mouse, on the menu you choose properties and on the new window you choose the last tab, and here you run it with compatibility to windows 98, press apply and ok, that's it :O)

You find Nicklaus homepage here :

AND you find a similar game but newer here :

Hope that helps
IF NOT then return here
Have a nice day over there

I have a new Dell computer with Microsoft XP, but I cannot load my Art Explosion 40,000 images. Is it possible to load this to XP?

The Art explosion 40,000 is not compatible with windows xp.
It was build for windows 98. You would have to update the software package. The information about the same can be found at

Microsoft fronpage express

#1 FP Express can't be recomended FP 2002 or 2003 are the only versions I would consider using. FP Express I belive that came out with windows 95 - You can get a trial of MS Web Expressions - but I wouldn't use it for any projects either as it's not ready for prime-time.
