Green Aura around everything including menus

I have been using the Panasonic DMR EX77 for about 18 months with no problem, but suddenly everything has a green aura around it, and it's not just round people on recordings. it is also around the menus/guide as well. Please help.

No, I have got speakers at the side of the tv but they have been there years, I bought a new LCD TV about 6 months ago though

it's been about a month since the green aura appeared and now everything has gone pink. It does seem to be only when I am viewing through it, programmes I have recorded I have dumped to DVD and tried in another player and they have recorded fine. I tried swapping the scart lead which didn't make any difference. Anybody else had this problem, any suggestions?

now it's a mixture of green and pink

It sounds like the DVD-RAM drive is about dead. Panasonic did not make them to be very durable.

Panasonic sells replacements at a high cost.

Replacement drives may work from used models including:

Odd picture....

Yes, your convergence is off. There is a function in the menu for adjusting these propoerties. It is supposed to be done monthly but rarley is. If it is ten years old or more, the cooling fluid in the projection tubes can get low, causing fish bowl effect. Not a cheap job and time intense. Try adjusting the convergence first. It gives you three screens to aling each color then save. Good luck!

Panasonic DMR E55 DVD Recorder

Hi James,

When in EXT link mode the recorder is looking for a signal from the TV to start recording off the TV's timers system.

There is a EXT Link button on the remote control and pressing that will take the machine back to normal mode. The button is near the bottom of the remote.

Hope this helps

GRAINY PICTURE OR COLOR SLUDGE

Sounds like the disk loaded new firmware, and new isnt always better. If you can get the older firmware file you may be able to flash it again and put it back to it's former self.
Check with Panasonic's website under support.
