The auto command remote starter has disabled the wife's car, so it will not turnover, how do I reset the module and bypass the alarm so she can at least start it with the key? It is an older model, but was working fine until the hood switch was opened while the car was running without the key. It was made in Canada and does not have a valet switch installed. Any help? Thanks.

Try disconnecting the positive and touch it to body ground for 30 secs. Re-attach.Then use the blade key in the drivers door to unlock door(turn 2 or 3 times in the unlock direction.)

SOURCE: car alarm preventing car from starting

Try removing the alarm system relay, some car alarm has also a fuse on the alarm that you can remove.
Many car alarms unlock by inserting and turning car key while you connect the battery.

SOURCE: Need to turn the valet switch off On 1999 Nissan Maxima

Look for alarm Brain box and look for wires coming out black and red going to valet switch. to turn valet on turn ignition in ON position and press-switch or flip depending on the type of switch. If it a basic alarm just disconnect the main wiring harness to alarm box- unplug and the car should start. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

2008 Ford Fusion. How to disable alarm wire purple/brown neg rest do I make pos to get alarm disarmed? No money got to get to work. The alarm messed up. Please help.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Motorcycles to model category.

You can't bypass vehicle alarm and security systems. They are there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You have two computers, the ECM and BCM, plus the alarm module and a number of sensors protecting the vehicle from theft and unauthorized removal. You can't trick them because you can't reprogram them.

Either do a security system reset or find an auto electrician or locksmith / alarm installer. Cheaper than the dealership!

2003 Saturn Vue. How to disable or bypass theft deterrent security system to a 2003 Vue that quit running while I'm driving.

Question moved to category.

No, you can't disable it, you have to fix the problem, not try and find a way around it.

There is help to reset, but you probably need an auto electrician or a local place that installs alarms and remote starters. The both have pro grade scan tool computers to diagnose the problem.

What is the passcode for the anti theft system

his vehicle has a the PASSLOCK II key
based engine disabling system.

You can attempt to put the key in the ignition,
turn it on to just before cranking and then leaving
it that way for 10 mins. After that,
some PASSLOCK systems will re learn the code
and allow for starting. But if not, the system
will either need to be seen by GM or, a bypass module
is required to circumvent.

If left unchecked, it will continue to lock down
the fuel injector rail, and you will need to tow
it in to GM for evaluation, and resetting anyway.

Bothersome, but can be fixed.

I suggest the PLJX bypass kit to get around
this issue. www.PASSLOCK2.com

This Passlock Bypass Module is designed to momentarilly
allow the engine to remote start by sending a proper
coded pulse to open the fuel rail passlock injector
cut off circuit.

The output from an alarm/remote starter
would then shut down the pulse, once it has detected
the engine has engaged, and preserve the integrity
of the passlock system.

That is it's designed purpose.

However, in your case, this input wire on the PLJX module,
instead of going to a momentary ground pulse from
an alarm/remote starter,
would go to a constant chassis ground, through
the bypass module, grounding out the PASSLOCK.
The PASSLOCK would then always be bypassed as long
as that wire is chassis grounded.

I can not speak about a damaged passlock system,
like if a thief has destroyed it, because I do not
get into this part of GM'S security application.
But as a happy coincidence to installing
after market remote starters, this does work on bypassing
passlock in most all GM vehicles we've run into,
including your year GM vehicle as well.

Also, this is a self learning, resistor sensing
and adjusting module. Once the VATS wires have been tapped,
you would press the program button to learn,
and it does. The car should then allow start
with any hardware store key.

It would on yours as well.

You might want a car alarm installer to do this
for you, the fair rate being around 50. to 75.
for labor.

2004 pontiac Grand Am with security passlock starting problems

Unfortunately you are correct, this
vehicle has the PASSLOCK II key
based engine disabling system, and currently it
is engaged. The sensor does not recognize &
retain the passlock reader chip in your ignition
switch any longer.

A bypass is required to circumvent.
If left unchecked, it will lock down the fuel injector
rail (as it has now), and you will need to
tow it in to GM for evaluation, and resetting.
Eventuall, the 10 minute over ride will cease to
work and you will finally be forced to visit
a Pontiac/GM dealer.

But, if you want to just remove this system
from the equation entirelly,
I suggest the PLJX bypass kit to get around
this issue.

This Passlock Bypass Module is designed to momentarilly
allow the engine to remote start by sending a proper

I changed the battery on my 2001 Tiboron and now the factory alarm system will not let me start the car. I do not have a key fob

In order to 'RESET' burgular alarm, you MUST have the remote keless entry fob programmed for the vehicle - no other way unless you want to bypass/disable the burgular alarm relay and alarm horn. This, however, does not disable the 'flashers' when the alarm is activated. Bypassing the relay will allow you to start the engine, but you'll be driving around with your parking lights flashing.
