Should fan run constant on indesit ban12fn fridge freezer?

It should shut off when it reaches the correct temperature. If you have the temp set to low it could cause it to continue to run or if there is an issue with the fridge that could also cause this issue. Keep in mind after a defrost it will take some time for everything to get back to the correct temp so it may run constant for a long time.

Princess series model FN66011S The refrigerator does not change temp.it remains warm...freezer does freeze. Is this a fixable problem?

HI!!

The little fan inside the freezer is the one in charge of blowing cold air into the fridge area, the freezer control (thermostat), regulates how cold it should get, and the Refrigerator control regulates how much of this cold air goes to the fridge compartment. It is important to keep the door gasket clean at all times in order to have a good thight seal.

Check:

1.- That the freezer and fridge controls are set correctly, acording to manufacturers specs. (a common problem arises when by accident, the temp. controls are moved out of preset adjusment.

2.- That the fan is working and sounds strong, (If you keep the freezer door open for a couple of minutes, you should hear and see the motor kiking in.)

3.- Find the vent(s) in the fridge compartment and feel if cold air is coming thru when fan is working. If fan is working and blows no air, Take the freezer's back panel off, (4 hexhead screws) just enough to see inside and check if the evaporator (radiator looking component) is covered with ice, blocking the flow of air towards the fridge compartment, if it is, your defrost thermostat and-or timer are defective.

Your temp control for the fridge when you first start it, should be a bit higher than the one for the freezer. (the freezer should be in the low-middle range.) This control is nothing but a actuator for a door that controls the flow of air from the freezer. The bigger the number, the wider the door opens, and the colder the fridge gets.

Once the system is stable, let's say the next day, you can re-adjust your controls, (don't expect an inmediate change right away, change one digit a the time and check again next day) If you set your fridge too high and the freezer too low, the freezer may loose coldness and the problem would invert.

Good Luck!!!

Since defrosting my freezer my fridge does not appear to be working correctly. The thermostat is turned up full however the fridge is not cooling. The seal round the door is fine and there is no blockage...

So you manually defrosted your refrigerator and now the fresh food section is warmer than normal. Can you please send me the model number and your location in the world. Some models are totally impossible. I found related models but no parts listings yet. Could you have someone feel the compressor top to see if warm, cool or too hot to keep hand there. Sea Breeze

My Maytag msd2756geb freezer is too cold.

Hi,
You are probably right that it is always running. This is because the thermostat/sensor has gone bad. The fridge adjusts by a door that allows air to come from the freezer to the fridge side. Therefore this will still work...
You will need to replace or have the thermostat replaced....

Freezer and frige not that cold

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

How to check everything

Indesit BA139 fridge freezer with very thick frosting on back wall, but not very cold fridge section (despite changing the temp control to max) and normal very cold freezer section. When temp control...

One or more of your defrost components(defrost timer or board, defrost heater, defrost thermostat/ bi-metal) are bad. Unless you removed the inside back wall in freezer and completely thawed the evaporator, it will not cool properly.

Indesit fridge freezer not getting cold (2 years old)

I would first check to see if the evaporator in the freezer is all iced up. If it is thats whay you do not have any cooloing. And If that is the case you have a defrost problem and it is not short on gas. If you see only a few coils on the evaporator frosted up then you do have a leak in the system and my be covered under the manufactures warrenty.
