I Reset the settings on my camera and lost all my pictures!
Someone help :o)
I pressed the 'reset' button for the settings on my Finepix F20 (Fujifilm) camera and when I went to view my holiday photos, it said NO IMAGE.... Have I lost everything from the memory card now?

Maybe, maybe not. You can try using Windows properties to fix an error. If that doesn't work, try image recovery software, which is usually downloadable from the net. You then run the software on the card and hopefully your images are readable. Save them to CD or hard drive, and format the card in the camera to remove bad or fragmented data.

So the camera is at least two years old- that means it will cost more to repair than it would to buy a better new camera. Prices have been falling and specs rising dramatically, so don't throw money at this old camera. Sell it (as faulty) on eBay, and someone will buy it for parts to fix their old camera (some people just like a challenge).
to reset the D2x to its default settings:
1. press the Menu button.
2. scroll to the Custom Settings Menu (the pencil icon in the left column).
3. press the right side of the multi-selector to move the highlight into the menu.
4. scroll to Menu Reset.
5. press the right side of the multi-selector to move into the Reset CSM Menu window.
6. scroll to Yes.
7. press the right side of the multi-selector to reset the camera to its default settings.
It did likely re-set to lower resolution when the batteries were changed. To set it where you want, press the "F" button when in shooting mode. You'll see the options, one of which is for image size/quality.
Try formatting the xd card. The f20 has enough internel memory for a few pix, if the card is not working it uses internal memory. Also look for the number of pictures remaining if this is low the card is not working.
It appears that the software crashed. Take the batteries and the memory card out, press the on/off button as if you are turning the camera on (this is to drain any residual power in the camera). Leave it for a few moments (10-20 seconds) then put the batteries and the card back in and restart the camera. If the camera has a reset button or reset hole try this too. Good luck.
THE MOST LIKELY REASON FOR THIS COULD BE EITHER THE SHUTTER IS NOT OPENING(IN THIS CASE WHEN YOU HALF PRESS THE CLICK BUTTON YOU SEE SOME SORT OF SNOWY PICTURE )IF NOT THEN THE CCD HAS GONE FAULTY AND IN BOTH THE CASES THE HARDWARE NEEDS TO BE CHECKED THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT YOURSELF
