Re: hi!

Hi linz, Based on your post/description you have a couple of problems. 1. computer -hangs > many possible reasons: memory, video, virus, low CPU speed, faulty drivers; 2. screen saver not open sometimes > again video; 3. damage > physical (hardware) or software? 4. virus > any good anti-virus should be able to take care of that. However, rather than tackle one problem at a time, I would suggest that you do it all together and completely erase your hard drive and start a fresh/clean/new install of your operating system. You have to get hold of a copy of the OS that you are using and you can use the serial number or key normally in the sticker at the bottom of your laptop or at the rear/side of a desktop. This way you can ALMOST be assured that it will be virus free and CONFIGURED. If somehow the OS will not recognize some devices, it is just a matter of going to the laptop manufacturer's site and downloading/installing appropriate drivers. It might be of help if you can check your Device Manager and log down all devices that are currently installed like display adapter, modems, Network adapter and sound controllers. If it is connected to a network, it would be to your advantage to log down also you IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers. Thereafter you of course will need Office Applications, Utilities, Anti-Virus and others. Pls post back with details of your computer (brand/model) and your Operating System. Hope this be of some help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.

Hello, I would like to fix my Samsung Strive phone screen myself. Can you help me? The screen is broken but not cracked. It has a spider/star shaped blotch that covers about half of the screen.

Hi barbaradwall,

Actually the spider web blotch that you can see on your screen is an indication of a cracked LCD. The only way that you can fix this is to have the LCD replaced by an authorized technician since special tools will be needed to open your phone and fit a new LCD.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Due to 2 power outages in 1 morning I reinstalled Windows XP but cannot install A&T Yahoo says I need an ethernet adapter and network adapter can this be reinstalled.

1. Try to reinstall the ethernet driver.
2. what you might try is to open up the computer case and try another slot that is if its not part of the motherboard.

If you had power outtages and it has effect your computer you might want to purchase a battery backup with protection as if a power outtage spikes you could loose your equipment to damage.

Acer Aspire T180 can't get on internet due to driver corrupt or misssing?

Hello, It sounds to me like there is a conflict between the Kaskersky and Vista. I'd un-install and use Avast but AVG is a Good Anti-virus also. Vista is sometimes a nightmare. I have problems with certain flash-drives which will not work in Vista. They freeze up the computer. It's Vista. Hope this helps. Good luck.

With your firewalls up you may have been pretty safe. I never say I'm so safe from anything on an open network. I would suggest being on a secure network with a password verification. This way no one else has access to your network unless they have the key. Using open networks you're allowing anyone into your privacy. Just think of it as you leaving your house front door open at night while your sleeping.
Thanks I hope I helped you out.
