Question about Microsoft Broadband Networking MN-520 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter
Hi linz, Based on your post/description you have a couple of problems. 1. computer -hangs > many possible reasons: memory, video, virus, low CPU speed, faulty drivers; 2. screen saver not open sometimes > again video; 3. damage > physical (hardware) or software? 4. virus > any good anti-virus should be able to take care of that. However, rather than tackle one problem at a time, I would suggest that you do it all together and completely erase your hard drive and start a fresh/clean/new install of your operating system. You have to get hold of a copy of the OS that you are using and you can use the serial number or key normally in the sticker at the bottom of your laptop or at the rear/side of a desktop. This way you can ALMOST be assured that it will be virus free and CONFIGURED. If somehow the OS will not recognize some devices, it is just a matter of going to the laptop manufacturer's site and downloading/installing appropriate drivers. It might be of help if you can check your Device Manager and log down all devices that are currently installed like display adapter, modems, Network adapter and sound controllers. If it is connected to a network, it would be to your advantage to log down also you IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers. Thereafter you of course will need Office Applications, Utilities, Anti-Virus and others. Pls post back with details of your computer (brand/model) and your Operating System. Tips for a great answer:
Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.
Under Screen saver, in the drop-down list, click the screen saver you want to use.
Click Preview to see what your chosen screen saver will look like.
