NEC Multisync LCD 2080UX has a strip that appears on screen after 20 mins use.

NEC Multisync LCD 2080UX has a strip that appears after 20 mins use. Starts with flickering then turns into a solid bar. Is this a capacitor issue or other? Can it be fixed. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron... Interestingly if the window is open and the back of the monitor is cold it doesn't happen... If you turn it off for 10 mins and back on you get another 10 or so minutes of normal use before it reappears

Might be from overheating, monitors do overheat sometimes. I had the same issue happening to one of my old monitors and it wasn't fixable unfortunately. I had to replace it and get a new one.

SOURCE: My NEC Multisync LCD 2080ux + has developed a weak

One thing that will affect how clear the display is if the monitors resolution is set to the wrong value. your monitor must be set at at its native resolution of 1600x1200. Any other value will result in a degraded display.

NEC multiSync 1700V as external monitor for Notebook Toshiba U205, Operating System Window Vista Home Premium. It displays only part (80%) of the picture compared with notebook's monitor.

Hi, if the 17 inch lcd screen is not a widescreen then the problem with the screen is possibly nothing more than the aspect ratio or resolution, which ever way you wanna look at it. All laptops have a widescreen type of ratio, so you will have to be either willing to change the resolution when you switch screens or setup different profiles, which you should beable to do through control panel, appearance and then personalization, you will then have access to it.

You have to install the nec driver for this monitor. I have the same monitor. Im looking for the driver now. There are 2 versions of this monitor with the same model # . You will need to find the driver to the touchscreen model.

Nec multisync lcd 2080ux no raster no power indicator light.

If u a tech, try checking the PSU of the monitor for blown fuse or dead driver element ( typically a FET, Power transistor or an Hybrid chip) . U need to take the monitor apart, if unfamiliar, get it to a service tech.

Intermittent display problem, NEC Multisync 1760NX

This usually happens when the resolution is set incorrectly for the monitor. If you have been using the same setup, probably an update changed the driver or setting for the video card. If it is a new monitor, try hooking up the old one and change the resolution to something the new monitor can understand. If you have been using it for some time and this is all of a sudden, then try to borrow a monitor and change the resolution to something the monitor can understand. If you borrow one and can get it working, also look and make sure the video card has a driver installed. Sometimes an update can change things.
