Have you tried a new t-stat? They go bad. Also try jumping wires at t-stat, then disconnect & jump at furnace - to see if there's a short in the wire

SOURCE: Coleman forced air furnace blower

Rmove the two screws holding the blower in place and slide it out. With the power off, rotate the wheel and inspect for debris or an impingement. If everything turns easy, you have a bad motor or start capacitor. If you have rubbing, adjust the wheel. If the motor will not turn, replace it.

SOURCE: Coleman furnace -- fan runs, ingniter won't light,

My furnace did not have a reset switch on that particular limiter. I unpugged the switch, it had 2 wires, waited 15 seconds or so and then plugged it back in . Turned the furnace back on and the limiter reset itself.

SOURCE: i have a coleman evcon gas furnace in a 95 trailer

Most Coleman units in a trailer dont have a draft fan. Are you talking about the fan that blows air through the floor registers? If yes, then you will probably need a new fan/limit control. If you do have a draft motor, you would probably need a new circuit board or draft fan relay.

SOURCE: Coleman furnace fan keeps turning off and on every 10 seconds...

clean your heat/flame sensor with sand paper or steal wool. If the sensor is dirty, it won't detect the heat from the flame and it shuts the gas off. Clean the soot and junk off the sensor and it should work fine. I have to clean mine every year. After spending hundreds of $$ every yr on tech calls..I figured out the problem and in 30 sec I'm up and running again.

Changed sequencer, now I have to turn down thermostat to get heat strips to come on.

What?? Explain that a little better but sounds like it’s wired wrong.

I have a coleman evcon electric furnace. The blower fan runs constantly, the switch is in auto and the fans runs even when the thermostat is shut off.

Most likely on that particular electric furnace you have a fan sequencer that is closed (stuck shut). It is the black relay that you are looking at when you take off the furnace cover to access your heat strips. You should have a red wire coming from the blower motor that plugs into the side of it. If you have a ohm meter turn power off and remove wire. Check resistance across the sequencer and it should read OL. If you have resistance across it, the relay is bad. Replace it.

Have Coleman mobile home unit electric furnace changed sequencer and limit switches strips stay on after cycle and also run with unit switched off

This is the one where you have to lay on your head to work on it, I assume? Has to either be a bad sequencer, or the thermostat/thermostat wiring. If all the strips stay on, something is miswired, or your thermostat is keeping them on.

Electric Furnace heating coil stays on constantly

There are devices called heat sequencers that activate the heat strips and when get old they pop apart inside and don't keep the contacts open. You need a new triple heat sequencer, might get one from a mobile home supply house or call an HVAC co.

  • Hey, nofarmark91

Turn the Coleman furnace system switch to the "Off" position on the electric service panel.

  • Locate the manual reset switch near the left side of your furnace blower. Your Coleman furnace has an upper limit switch for manual reset and a lower limit switch for automatic reset.

  • Press the reset button, which you will find in the middle of the limit switch. Use this manual reset button when the furnace burner will not operate. (See Reference 1 pg 4 "The Furnace Controls and their Function/Important" & Reference 4 # 3)

  • Turn the system switch to the "On" position.

  • Good Luck

Working on a coleman 3ton split unit in a mobile home, when thermostat calls for heat, the heat strips come on and blower comes on. heat strips go off before the thermostat is satisfied and the blower...

Probably a bad limit switch on the strips or the heat sequencer/relay is falling out after continued amp draw. I would lean toward the heat relay/sequencer. Havent heard of any problems with coleman limit switches. These units were prone to get water inthe electrical compartments due to the evap coil being right above it. Check to see where the power break is starting at the strips and working backwards throught the circuit. That will tell you for sure. Make sure you have 24v going to the heat sequencer too.

When we turn on the central air there is a strong burning smell...like burnt toast but way stronger. IS it safe to remian in the house?

Is your central air furnace or electric heat. Electric furnace sometimes have electric strip sequencer stick in the closed positions leaving on one strip of the electric heat. Get a service tech as soon as possible to check this out. Any smells from a central unit need to be teken care of promptly. TURN OFF unit you have it checked for your safety. Rus
