I purchased a 2003 Yukon w/ this identical problem, I found one of the wire harnesses on the back of the main radio head to be loose (back right as you pull the radio unit out. I made sure it was plugged in tight and everything worked.

Dvd not playing over the radio

If you have a DVD player AND an FM Modulator then this is not a OEM part, meaning it's not in your service manual. An Original Equipment Manufacturer part wouldn't require an FM modulator. This is an aftermarket part, hardwired into your vehicle and the fuse should be located under your dash near the main power harness coming from the ignition.

Radio sound goes on and off--the closest radio stations won't even pick-up. If you bump the side of the unit it will play GREAT for a short, very short time just fine then back to on and off soun

sounds like you have a loose wire, what wires are you moving under the hood... do you mean behind the head unit? i'd trace each wire individually until you find one that has a poor connection, if they have wire crimps on them so you can't tell, cut them off one at a time and re-crimp them/twist them together.

I have tried everthing i can to get the dvd player to be heard over the car speakers but can only get the sound on the head phones. Are these Rosen A7 dvd players designed to play over the radio or not?...

Put a cd in the dvd player then tune to the channel and it should work, then try a dvd.
When dvd player does not boot up and display the Kia logo, try moving the door as the hinge turns on the screen and sometimes the connection in the hinge can play up a bit.
