Question about Creative Labs Nomad MuVo TX MP3 Player

1 Answer

Well, everytime i turn on my mp3 player it just stays on the CREATIVE screen and even though i press a button it still doesn't work. So i have to take out the battery so it could turn off. Ok so then i tried erasing some files because i thought it had some messed up files. So i went to Windows Media Player and clicked sync. it gave me some wierd files it said 000000 i clicked it and the files contained some wierd characters it also had 3.53 GB as a size. i tried deleting the files and a window popped out that said Cannot Delete File: Cannot read from the source file or disk. so please help me out i need help.!!!!!

My MuVO TX was having problems until I installed the latest firmware. The last firmware release was in March 2007. If you haven't updated the player's firmware since then, try downloading it and installing Creative MuVo TX FM Firmware 1.24.02.

If your computer is having problems even recognizing the player, you could try reinstalling the Creative Mass Storage Driver

If you really want to wipe the MuVO's files and start over:

  1. Plug your player into your computer
  2. Right-click on "My Computer"
  3. Select "Manage"
  4. Click on "Disk Management"
  5. One of the volumes listed should be your MuVO. You can right-click on it from here, and select "Format." (This will not erase the firmware that makes the player work, so don't worry about that. The firmware is stored else.)

What does the Creative Zen reset button do?

I won't delete them. It should just turn your player off and then it will work just fine once you turn it on again.
Though I suppose I should mention that I found this thread because I'm looking to find how the reset button works... because I just used mine when my player was seriously jacked up and now it won't even turn on at all. But not to scare you, you shouldn't have that problem (and if you do your player's beyond saving anyways).

Creative zen v problems-frozen

If a reset does not work using the reset hole, then try this: First, back up all of your music and do this: Turn off the player and disconnect it from the computer. Then press and hold the play/puse button and turn it on simultaneously. The player should be in recovery mode. Scroll down and select format (all) and let it format. Then reload all of music back onto your player and it should work like new. Hope this helps!
