Is it because your keypad not functioning, meaning does the number change when you press the arrow up or down? Or when you set it, (let's say 12 Cel.) it does not reach down to that temperature. Then it could be either it's a sealed system problem( leaking refrigerant or under charge if it's a new unit). Or it could be a control problem( electronic control or sensor)

If you are getting the E4 error code, try replacing the defrost sensor. The part might take forever to get to you, but we replaced the sensor on the wine cooler and it's working.

Yes once you take out the solenoid valve the refrigerant will escape and you need to recharge with new gas.You cannot prevent it from gas escaping.

I have a Danby Silhouette wine cooler model DWC512BL. Fan in the back started making noise, I called a technician, he told me the fan was bad, removed it (cut the wire) and sai I had to replace the fan. It...

For those refrigeration systems that employ a fan it is usually positioned to push cool ambient air through the condenser, being somewhat more efficient than pulling air through it because unless it is fitted with a close fitting mask or cowl the fan could pull a great deal of air from the sides completely bypassing the evaporator...

ITS NOT COOLER ITS IS ABOUT 3YRS OLD

IF it is running now:
Check the "coils" along the bottom or back, and dust them off with canned air.
Check the seal along the door, it may have been sprung by opening all the way too many times. To check the seal, take a note card (or business card) and place it in spots between the seal and frame for the cooler.

IF it is not running or running very loud:
Unplug the unit and let it warm up to room temp (transfer the wine into several good cooler boxes first...) and then leave it for several hours, then start it up again, this should help.

I am looking for the cooling fan for a Danby Silhouette DWC512BL-1 wine cooler. A google link took me to your site but I don't see any links to Danby parts.

As I have worked on a few ELECTROLUX wine coolers and they do not have a cooling fan for the inside of the unit are you speaking of the one under and in back of your cooler if so then it is a condenser fan motor it will be 110v and your local appliance store should be able to order one close enough to work in design and rotation of it. Hope this helps.

Danby DWC283BLS has condensation inside the unit.

wine coolers have no means of draining the condensate inside them, use silica gel(1/2 pint)to keep the inside dry(remember to dry it out when condensate happens again)

We have a danby dwc283bls wine cooler that no longer cools, and the compressor gets warm (above normal) does it need to be recharged

that's always a possibility but not always the case. The thermostat may not be cycling correctly or set wrong. The condenser could be dirty or if there is a fan, it may not be running. Freeze ups can also cause an "Out of temp." condition. Check it out.

Danby wine cooler model dwc172bl thermostat replacement

Once I figured out there were black plastic caps covering the screws holding the inside back panel in place, it was an easy fix. The cooler is now up and running. Thank you for giving me the $10 incentive to figure it out myself.
