Re: flash will not work, Pictures at night blurry

Make sure you are using regular batteries and not rechargables, they can be problematic in any point and shoot camera. The best I've seen are the E2 and long lasting. You might pay a little more for those, but literally in the long run, you will be happier not have to recharge every couple of days. I did this and it was annoying, changed to regular batteries and I go for months at a time. Flashes can wear batteries down pretty fast.

The next reason why the pictures are orange, is possibly because of the White Balance setting. Make sure the camera White Balance select saus AWB (Auto). If it still comes out wrong, then put the camera dial in another White Balance selection and take another shot, if the same subject and lighting comes out warmer (more red) or cooler (more blue) then you know the settings are off and the camera should be service.

Maybe check for a new firmware at this link.

Happy snapping.

If you have tried using the auto setting and it is still doing the blurry pictures it sounds like a problem with your camera not the settings themselves.
This blog suggests a couple of the reasons might be:
"When your image appears distorted and with altered colors, in most of the cases there are two possible reasons:
- The internal shutter gets stuck , does not open completely or
The image sensor is damaged.... "

The pictures come out blurry and not close up.

The problem occurs when the mode in which you are taking picture is not appropriate. You should change your mode based on surrounding conditions and not on your mode. It you are having lack of light than you should select the night option if you are not having lights or flash available. .

My olympus FE-240 takes blurry pictures in night mode.

It's night mode the shutter stays open much longer...plenty of time for you to move the camera. Use a tripod.

Nikon D60x Blurry night pictures

Try switching to Shutter Prority (S) with a fast shutter speed. If the light is not so good, up the iso to 800 to gain that faster shutter speed..

You do not say the lens in use ? if VR, make sure its switched on or use a tripod.

Hope this helps

Blurring pictures

I had the same problem. Somehow my flash was set on "SL - Keep subjects and distant backgrounds bright." When I changed the flash to "Auto", it seemed to get rid of the blurry pictures.

Night pictures do not come out

To take night photo's you need to use a tripod. this will enable you to take long exposures without the blur. If you use flash it will only illuminate objects near the camera.

Most probably you have incorrectly set your camera to a Camera Record mode other than Auto.

If there is not enough light and you are trying to photograph the scene without flash, (eg. by setting your camera mode to a mode that is programmed not to use flash) then the camera has to compensate for the missing light by keeping its shutter open for a longer period of time so as enough light comes into its sensor.

If your hand shakes during that time, you get blurry images.

Check your camera settings. The Twilight scene mode gives you slower shutter speeds to capture dark, night scenes, but you need to stabilize the camera on a tripod or something, depending on the level of light of the scene you want to photograph. The Twilight Portrait, on the other hand, is the same as Twilight with the addition of flash is used to illuminate a person or foreground subject as well as capturing a night background. This mode also keeps a long shutter time for capturing the night background.

For taking pictures of people, I would suggest you use Auto or Portrait mode where the camera will automatically use fast shutter speeds and flash (if dark).

Hope this helps.
