Question about Kodak EasyShare C340 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Power Faliure My Camera Will Turn on, let me take one picture, show me it, then shut off. I think it has to do with power or one of the wires has come loose or something because there is a rattling sound inside the camera that wasn't there before this started.

I did that too.. I left my camera in the dock for recharging.. usually when I leave it in overnight, it is recharged and in full power.. but now even when I leave it in the dock , there's nothing.. the camera is not turning on and gives me a red light..is there something wrong with my connection in the dock? I don't know..what to do..

Try putting it on the printer dock for a little while and see if that helps . there are internal batteries that have to be charged . the batterries on the outside are for the flash .

My fine pics camera is not uploading the pictures to my pc. It's saying connect camera and turn power on. Can you please tell me what the problem is

I think you are missing a step or pushing the wrong power button.

The sequence should go like this first make sure the batteries are up to power if there is an interruption the pictures could become lost and corrupt the memory card.

Turn the camera off, connect the USB cable to the computer USB port not a hub or keyboard port.

to turn the camera on Fine Pix Viewer will start and the save Image Wizard will display follow on screen instructions to download pictures.

To disconnect make sure the indicator lamp is off then press the same button for about a second to shut the camera off THEN disconnect the camera from the computer.
You should then format the memory card to begin fresh with a clean card and allow the camera and memory card to properly communicate between each other without errors.
Here is a diagram to show you were and how to format the card.

I have a Kodak M1033 camera that I bought just over 6 months ago. I took it on holiday it worked fine and then suddenly it switched off. Since then it only powers up for about 5 seconds, shows a unfoc

I'm not sure why this works for me, but I think it's worth a try:

1) First, take your SD card out of the camera.

2) Then turn on your camera and let it turn itself off.

3) Read the next step first and be ready to press the shutter release button (take a picture) right after the LCD screen turns on

4) With the camera lens pointed down towards the floor (aim down), turn on the camera. At this point the LCD screen should not be blurry anymore. Immediately press the shutter release after confirming that the LCD is not blurry. If the camera stays on and you can review the picture (most likely of your feet), then you are almost done.

5) Turn off the camera and re-insert your SD card.

5) This may not be a permanent fix, but point the camera lens downward whenever you turn on the camera. It should work normally if you do this. Mine worked normally (meaning I don't have to point it downward when I turn it on) after doing this several times. Your results may vary.

Last year I bought my mom a digital camera for christmas. It worked great for about 2-3 months. Since then it is speratic, it will turn on let you take a couple of pictures then shuts down all by itsels....

Hi! Most digital cameras require outrageous amounts of power to work properly. Be sure to use only high quality, hi power ni-mh rechargeable batteries. Check for Sanyo Eneloop or Duracell. Sometimes we think the camera is broken, but in most cases is only insufficient amout of power. If you can't find the before mentioned batteries, look for 2500mA NI-MH type rechargeable batteries and a proper charger. Good luck!

Lens mechanism isn't good to work properly so camera shut down the power. Try to tap the lens/ camera while power up.

DSC-S40 Can view pictures but camera shuts off when turned to camera mode

I assume so...mine is doing it as well. Even weirder is you hold a combo of buttons (i think power and mic, I dont remember exactly) and you can go into this manufacturers menu for setting up and testing the device. In that, it will take pictures and everything...and still i cannot get it to stop shutting off like that. It makes a weird clicking noise when it shuts off too...sounds like the shutter perhaps. Click click. If you find a solution to it please email me at Garry_NEC@hotmail.com

There is a watch battery in a small slot behind the regular batteries that says c1120.  Has this been replaced?  See if that helps.
