I have had my 205W for 3 years and about 6 months ago I bought a 265WT for my second car. Both were bought new and are both registered to me and showing on Garmin's website. They were both bought in Florida and I have recently moved to Arizona. I cannot exactly run over to my original location to get it to reset. Also, as far as I'm aware, I've never set a pin on either one, and if I had I would use one of 3 variations and would have recorded them in a secure passwords program I use. Since none of the 3 possible pins works to unlock it, and there is no record of anything except my sign in password for the Garmin site and POI site, I am virtually certain I never set a PIN for this. It has never asked for a pin before and I have traveled all over the country with the 205 before I got the 265WT. Since they are registered, can I get this fixed through the Garmin website, or will I have to send it back in. Frankly for a unit that is designed to travel; the security location seems like a stupid idea.

SOURCE: garmin pin
If you don't know the security location, it will have to be sent in to be unlocked. I guess you could just try all the combinations... Only four digits, right?

The only way to unlock a PIN locked Garmin is to enter the correct PIN or take the unit to the location at which the PIN was entered. The only other option is to send the unit to Garmin.
