Your mistake was in assuming your camera would recognize any information your computer put on the card. It won't because of the difference in the operating systems. To get your card to work properly in your camera again, you will have to format it in the camera.
Try to recover what is left on the memory stick with TestDisk on a pc. Note, download the windows version and not the dos/windows version, the dos/windows version is for windows 3.11 and lower.
Try to fomat the card afterwards if this does'nt help at all try another card in your camera, if the other card works replace your other card else get te camera autorized repairs man.
Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.
I had/have the same problem using L200 and SDHC memory card, called Samsung. Can't view certain pictures on camera or computer, camera freezes when viewing those certain pictures, green light flashing.
Samsung support told me that I needed to copy my (good) pictures to a computer first because a memory format will erase everything. Then format (menu->settings->format->yes) my memory card. Tried this just now and took some new pictures, so far so good.
Well, you can try to recover it using recovery software, but you are out of luck, it seems Olympus have some issue with memory card slot in FE model, I have FE280 and it happened to me three times already and I call the support they are no help what so ever. Answer they provide is format the card.

Sorry to hear that you have that problem, take as lesson learn and don't buy Olympus.
try another laptop (friend's)..I suspect yours has a NTFS hard drive format while the card has a FAT type format. You can see which type by starting defrag and reading screen.
