Question about Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 for PC

1 Answer

Problems with internet activity

I cannot launch my browser. It hangs up trying to load my home page. Then, I can click on some of my favorites on the toolbar, it connects, but then won't let me pass that point. For example, I can get to the Yahoo login page, but when I go to login, it hangs and will not load my email. It won't do anything at that point. Now, it won't work for all of my favorites; ony Bank of America and Yahoo. What is wrong? I tried reinstalling my browsers (Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer) and have used three different virus/trojan removal applications all to no avail. Please help me.

How do I make google my home page

Go to browser settings, look for start page, enter: www.google.com, save. Look at advanced settings and make sure there are no other alternative pages listed. If that does not work and a virus disabled google, Uninstall the browser ,install chrome from google.com, and it will ask if you want Google to be your homepage. Alternately, go to Google in your browser, add it to favorites, then in your favorites folder, drag the Google shortcut to your desktop and launch your browser with that new shortcut.

How do I change MY home box back to Yahoo.co

You can set yahoo.com as your home page in your browser by setting it as the default in your browser settings:

For instance, if you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, start up (launch) your IE browser, Click on the "Tools" tab on the far right (top) corner of the page - to see a drop-down window; select/click on "Internet Options" to open up a window. At the top box (General tab) ... you can enter the URL address of the home page ... i.e. www.yahoo.com Then, click Apply ... and OK

From then on, whenever you start up (launch) your IE browser, it will display the www.yahoo.com page.

This can also be done for other (common) browsers, like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc. If you are using one of these other browsers and would like specific step-by-step instructions, simply indicate so in your follow-up comments.

You can set your favorite webpage as your home page and have it appear whenever you start up your browser. And if you add the home page button to the browser toolbar, you can click it at anytime to get to your home page.
Follow these steps to adjust your home page settings:
  1. Click the wrench icon chrome_toolsmenu.gif on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Options (Preferences on Mac and Linux; Settings on a Chromebook).
  3. Click the Basics tab.
    • Set your home page
Pick the page you'd like to be your home page in the "Home page" section. You can select to use the New Tab page as your home page. To use another page, select "Open this page" and enter the web address of the page you'd like to use.
    • Add the home button to the browser toolbar
Want a button on the browser toolbar that you can click to open your home page? Select the "Show Home button" checkbox in the "Toolbar" section.

For a temporary solution, download and install Firefox browser, version 6.01 at www.mozilla.org
When asked, tet the program import your favorites and home page settings from your other browser.
Addressing your problem, download and install Microsoft Security Essentials from Microsoft.com and scan your system for Trojans, exploits and spyware. Do everything recomended by the software and hope it was not something too serious!

Cafe word loading problems for several days. Please help I wan to play and I can't...

Try refreshing the page once or twice. You can also press "F5" to refresh. If refreshing does not result in your game loading properly, try the following troubleshooting measures:

Update your browser:
There are several documented issues surrounding Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) and Flash Content. If you are using IE8 we suggest that you try a new browser such as Safari 4, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.
We also recommend that you always make sure that you are using the latest version of your browser.

Other things to try:

Clear your cache.
Clearing your cache will make your system run faster and smoother. Internet pages will load faster and most importantly, you will be able to obtain the most up-to-date games features at Zynga!
How do I clear my cache?

For Internet Explorer:
1. Launch Internet Explorer.
2. Select Tools > Internet Options.
3. Click the Delete button in the Browsing History section.
4. Click on Delete.
5. Close Internet Explorer and re-launch.

Verify that JavaScript is enabled

Zynga games utilize JavaScript which is a client side technology. This means that the actual processing of some of the things that happen within the game will occur on your computer and not on our servers.

If you are experiencing difficulties loading our games or using features within our games you may need to verify that your current internet browser has JavaScript enabled.

Internet Explorer users, please do the following:

  1. Open the Tools menu.
  2. Select Internet Options, to open the Internet Options dialog box.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click the Internet symbol (a globe).
  5. Click the Custom Level button, to open the Security Settings dialog box.
  6. In the Settings list, scroll down to Scripting.
  7. Under Active Scripting, click the radio button to the left of enable, so that a colored dot appears in it.
Use a Plug in connection rather than use wireless.

Disable pop-up or ad-blocking software.

Download the latest flash player - If you need help with this see my tip here: http://www.fixya.com/support/r6775220-not_able_play_youtube_videos

Try all the above mentioned things. If the problem still persists then you should contact Zynga directly.

Wishing you all the best.

My_yahoo home pages displays slowly...''back'' is slow/hangs

Try firefox for your browser...this is a option for you to use...if not happy just go back to your IE. Yahoo in the past 4 years to me has had many page loading problems for me an I think this to be server related as they do have 4 servers that have to back up one server, if that server is down...on that note: Try firefox. Also clear your cookies and your registry and Temporary Internet files. Click tools up top and check your internet options.

Prior to Windows Vista updates I had my favorites listed when I clicked on Internet Explorer. As of 2 days ago rather than listing favorites my PC goes directly to Google which does not have my favorites....

Did you download the Google Chrome browser or install a toolbar by any chance?

You can also try this:
1. Open IE by clicking on its icon on Desktop.
2. Click on Tools > Internet Options
3. Under 'General' tab, click the 'use blank' button under the "home page" entry.
4. Click on "Programs" tab and click on 'make default' button under "Default Web Browser" entry.
5. Click 'Apply' and 'OK' buttons

Close IE and reopen to see if this solves the issue. Please post back if this is not what you meant in your original query..
