Muffled faint sound and flickering screen on Insignia NS-32LCD

Woke up today to find the screen flickering, and the sound is extremely faint and muffled. When it powers up there is a quick crackle sound then picture comes on with the flicker and the sound is pretty much worthless. This happens on all inputs, which we only have the cable box and xbox 360 attached right now. Obviously we've tried unplugging and restarting to no avail. I'm comfortable opening it up and looking around, but would like to know what I should be looking at before I take that step. A tech is scheduled to come in 12 days. (Which of course seems like an eternity since it's our only TV). Hope someone here might be able to help or at least give me options to know about with the service call since it's not under warranty. Or not under warranty that I can prove according to BB... Thanks for any assistance!

My ns-lcd42hd09 insignia tv only displays the right side of the screen clearly until the tv is on for about an hour then it will display both sides correctly. Today it never cleared up, stays really dark...

Having same problem. Smacking it or applying pressure often works. Extremely annoying (inconvenient) that a nearly $1000 machine breaks down very soon after one year ( how long the warranty is, of course)

I have a insignia ns-32lcd and all I get is thin lines going up and down the screen. What is the problem?

For those capable of board level repair, on my 32LCD the T-con board had a defective voltage regulator. This is the board under the shield connects to the two ribbon cables to the screen. This parts is located on the left side looking from the bottom of the set. It is marked 1117-2.5s it is a 2.5 volt regulator.
On my set it was supplying 1.0 volts. I replaced it with a series pass transistor
regulator used a MPS2712, set for 2.5 Volts now work perfect

Capacitors are probably bulged in the power supply. Need replaced, not expensive.

How to remove the back from Insignia NS-32LCD?

I unscrewed all the screws in the back, detached the tv from the base, and was able to get the back off. I ordered a new power supply board and will install it to see if it fixes the problem with the tv (won't turn on, insignia light alternates between red and blue). I didn't notice any problems with "swollen" capacitors, so if the new power board fixes the problem I'll update this website.

did you try calling the (877) 467-4289 Insignia help line?  I think they're open 24/7.  They just solved another Insignia problem for me.
