I recently replaced the bulb in my tv and i have not yet reset the bulb timer. I do not have the original remote and can only access setting on the front of the tv...
The tv had color for about a month after replacing the bulb it looks great i was playing Xbox on it but all the sudden it just went BLACK AND WHITE....no color and i'd like to repair it myself if possible.
ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.
The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.

My friend's LG 50" plasma tv has the same problem and it cannot light up. The picture and sound are working fine. But the brightness is too low. It is purchased 2006 too and out of warranty. So I opeend up and found 9 capacitors 3300uF 10V on the power module at the middle of TV are popped. I am planing to replace all of them. They are available at digikey.com. I think this model's power module has design flaw. The cap rating may to low. 10V? Stay tune to see what happen after I change the all the caps.
