It was the door switch. I didn't even know that existed. Mine was stuck in the "in" position. I pulled it out, shut the door, and the dryer started right up!

I have a LG DLE2516 and something keeps tripping the breaker. It doesn't seem to happen when I run the air only (no heat) or low heat. Please help!

If one of the lines is lost (230v circuits have to hot lines) the light only works on 1 line check your connections. There is also a thermal fuse that shuts the machine down when its overheating. If there is 230v at terminal block. The fuse is what i check next, well doorswitch too make sure the switch isnt broken (upper right of door). PLEASE RATE MY HELP

How do I hook up a 4 prong cord to dryer. black, red, green and white wires?

Watch the video below for full description and be SURE to use and tighten the clamp that secures the chord where it penetrates the rear of the dryer. Do not leave chord loose in the hole as this COULD cause dangerous problems later on.

Maytag Neptune dryer went from 4 prong to 3 prong...cabinet light works but dryer we won't star

It's not wired right. You're only getting 110 vac to the machine which is why you are seeing some lights but no operation. Make sure when you went to the three prong plug you connected to both 110 vac lugs and common.

Dryer is 2 years old. Worked fine until we moved to a new house and could not hook it up. 1 year later I finally had the electric problem fixed and hooked the dryer up No Heat. Dryer turns on but NO Heat.

is the outlet 3 or 4 prongs?. voltage check the outlet for propper voltage. check connection at dryer power cord. 2 of the wires power the motor circuitry(120vac) the other 2 the heating element. you may have a loose connection in outlet, switch wires or bad-half trip breaker. if not,,,, there's a dryer problem, call us again with update please. good luck to you.

The dryer has a four prong male plug and the outlet is a three prong female - which do I change? the dryer cord is the easiest, but how do I connect the leads?

4 PRONG PLUG WIRING: 2 HOTS(RED&BLACK) 1 NEUTRAL(WHITE) 1 GROUND(GREEN). 3 PRONG PLUG WIRING: 2 HOTS&1 NEUTRAL. YOU MUST USE 2 HOTS & 1 NEUTRAL ON A 3 WIRE PLUG. THE GROUND WIRE(GREEN) WHICH IS HOOKED TO FRAME OF THE DRYER IS NOT USED ON OLDER 3 WIRE PLUGS. IT IS AN ADDITIONAL SAFTEY GROUND ON NEWER MODEL 4 WIRE PLUGS.

I have a 4 prong pigtail

Here is what I believe you have.

The 3 prong plug on your dryer is configured with 2 lines of power and 1 ground. The 4 prong receptical is 2 lines of power, 1 neutral, and 1 ground.
You will have to turn off the breaker to see how the receptical is wired by pulling it out and looking at it. You can then buy a 4 prong plug to match it and only wire up the 3 prongs you need for your dryer and leave the 4th prong empty.

Good Luck and hope this helps

Four wires on the new cord.
Red and Black go to outside screws on the terminal.
White goes to the middle terminal.
Green goes to the cabinet ground screw near the terminal plate cover.

No heat-switched from 4 prong to 3 prong-Ground????

There should be a ground bonding ******** the Neutral (White) wire at the terminal block for 3-prong configuration. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r793520-3_prong_4_prong_power_cord_conversion

Read through the information, thoroughly. Instructions on how to convert from 4 to 3 prong are mentioned in the "Additional Notes" section. If you have questions, or require addtional assistance please let me know. I hope this helps you.
