Re: cannot get 2 tone pager to work

Under zone edit change your optional signalling rules to qt dqt and optional signalling then the radio will only hear when all rules are satisfied ie right pl tone and decoded two tone make sure yoou only turn on optional sig on the page channel

Something is still wrong in the programming. Hold the squelch open and try talking to each other. If both work, congrats! You are on the same frequency. Now you need to determine the code or tone. If those are the same, please repost. The next thing is way too complicated.

Binatone Action 1000 Two-way radios. We can't transmit to others. Only our selves.

These radios are probably working on a different call guard tone than the other users you are trying to reach. If you have a manual, look up instructions on how to program a different tone. Hope this helps!

Tk3312 will not recieve repeater but audio is fine and channels with out pl are fine

1- Did you choose the right Tone for both RX & TX?

If you have RF present but not the right tone, the green led should turn on.
One of the side key should be a Momentary "Squelch Off" (By default, it programs like that). Use it when you you see the green led turn on.

If you have the wrong Tone Squelch programmed, the side key will let you hear the repeater to confirm the problem.

2- If it didnt do the trick, Look for a RX/TX frequency mismatch. maybe your RX/TX frequencies are wrong for this channel?

3- If you have checked all the above, maybe your radio have a bad ceramic filter and your unit has lost it's sensibility. (Youll hear only people near to you.)
If it's the case, usualy only one half of the filter goes bad. Try swapping the Bandwith type in programmation. If WIDE, try NARROW or the opposite. If you receive in narrow but not in wide, the filter is bad. In more than 50 radios with Sensitivity problem, I only got one with both Wide/Narrow sides of filter bad.
If you have access to a spectrum analyser, on a "RX Test" you should see ~0.2uV. Anything higher than 0.3uV mean you have a serious RX problem.

Makes loud tone when pushing ptt button

If it's a distinct "tone" like 1000Hz, it's probably mis-programmed. Check You may find a manual there.

I just bought a new kenwood tk272 G when i went to have it programmed with the frequencies i needed they could not get the page(which is just our tone) to work right it is on page but it will pick up our...

We are not familiar with your Kenwood model, yet we believe what you are experiencing is a programming issue. During programming (on Motorola equivalent radios) there should be a place where they choose how you want your pager to reacte in combination with the radio. Usually it is as simple as choosing "AND" or "AND/OR" in the signalling section of the programming. You might check back with your Kenwood dealer, or with another Kenwood dealer who is more knowledgeable on your particular model's paging feature.

Hi Tucaraca.

With the radio OFF, switch to CHANNEL 1, press the SQUELCH and the PTT at the same time. Turn ON the power switch while keeping the PTT and SQUELCH until the LED indicator turns RED.

Release the buttons and then press the PTT to CHANGE the FREQUENCY.

Press the PTT once each time until you get to the right frequency you desire. The 8 standard frequencies are as follows: 464.500, 464.5500, 467.7625, 467.8125, 467.8500, 467.8750,467.9000 and 467.9250 MHz. Once you get to the frequency you use, wait a few seconds and listen for the confirmation tone. Each frequency has a different confirmation tone so take note in case you need to program a second radio.

After you hear the confirmation tone, press the SQUELCH to confirm, and then press the SQUELCH again to lock the new frequency. Wait until the LED turns off, then switch off your radio.

Same procedure for CHANNEL 2.

WARNING: You must be legally licensed to use any frequency on any PLMRS such as the TK-3100 series. You must also apply for FREQUENCY COORDINATION and submit FCC form 601. FCC can impose steep fines and imprisonment if they catch anyone using an unlicensed radio on a controlled frequency. Visit FCC.GOV for more information.

Motorola and Kenwood compatibility....

Hello!! First of all, any radio in the right frequency will work with any other, to work just need the following features: -Frequency, 154.700 which is correct as you said. - the Squelch code, this could be PL or DPL. The XV2100 has a table of codes that you can try, as you dont know this code form the Kenwood, you will need to check one by one. If you have the chance to send the Kenwood to some to "Read" the radio parameters( freq.,Code, ETc) you can look those parameters on the XV. Hope this can help, any comments Good Luck

Tone on channels 5-15

I have worked on the TK 3101's and that tone is when the channel does not have a frequency.
It is a PC programmable radio. I assume you purchased the radio used and the previous owner had channels 5-15 "blank"
I can program it for you if you needed.
