Question about Olevia LT37HVS 37 in. LCD HDTV
Suddenly one evening the screen of my 37" Olevia began pulsing like a laser at a late 60s rock concert. It does this even when disconnected from all electronic signlas such as DVD players, cable box, whatever. Is this fixable? Is it going to be expensive? Is the unit history?
It is not the inverters. I changed mine out and it did not fix the problem. I am stilll troubleshooting the boards, but I am 100% positive that it is the power supply or the main video control card. The power supply is the easiest so I will post if I find anything. It might be the controller IC that is on the board, but if it isn't...no schematics to troubleshoot the other card so we're all out of a tv

MPL1, Did you get your inverter board and how did it work out?

My TV has the same flashing screen problem. It is my understanding that it is the inverter board, which you can fix yourself. I have ordered the part, but it has not arrived yet and I have obviously not installed it, but it looks easy enough to do. If you are outside of your warranty, then stop letting Olevia ignore you, contact the Better Business Bureau or a similar consumer advocacy group and file a complaint against Olevia.
You can find the appropriate inverter board for $180 here:

I have had every problem but this, including crappy 2 inch speakers, slow response to remote which causes multiple mutes etc. which leaves me wondering where it will land. Customer support on the internet won't respond to any queries at all. Overall, though I like the picture, but it needs a bigger cpu or something of that nature, more memory perhaps. Also station/program info is in white on the screen, which is invariably unreadable against high brightness backgrounds & that is very irritating. Cannot use original speakers. Love the hi def pic though. Must be an LG screen.
