Power buttone notworking for Emachine T3624

The PC has suddenly powered down for no apparent reason. Today, would not start at all; no sign of life, fans or lights. I have replaced the power supply but still does not work. Mean while I pulled the three wires from the front panel (WH/BK, WH/BL, WH/RED). These are supposed connected to 9 pins but do not know which one goes where. Thank you for help in advance.

Re: Power buttone notworking for Emachine T3624

Power problems are not always the power supply. A small amount of power is sent to the mobo to perform self test, and if the computer is ready, it signals the supply to turn on the rest of the power. That's to prevent a small problem from cascading into a large one. But it is difficult to troubleshoot. The problem could be with the mobo or the CPU. That's why you need to find a reliable repair shop with people who know what they are doing...not someone who only knows how to swap parts and calls that "troubleshooting."

Bestec power supplies are the worst, i see them time and time again. They all do the same thing. They short out and take the motherboard with it. You will have a GREEN LED light glowing on the motherboard but that's it. A standard power supply will work the above statement is not true.

Re: Power buttone notworking for Emachine T3624

Solution is- use the proper power supply, not a 3rd party generic brand. E Machines uses BESTEC power supplies-- and the pin configuration is different than the generic power supplies like ANTEK--- therefore-- only BESTEC power supplies will work in EMachines systems. Trust me-- I pulled my hair out on this one until I swapped out a working power supply from one of my other E Machines units, and the problem dissapeared.

Good luck--

Emachines 390 blinking led but no image

The problem could be many thing. Does it beep ? Can you see a white blinker on the upper left corner of the screen ? If you answer no for both questions, it coulb be the internal memory (ram) that is defect or even just dusty. But many other things could cause that. you can go to the link below and chat with a eMachine technicien.By the way when you try to turn off the computer, hold the power button until the computer shuts down.

Power switch notworking ( ASUS P4PE-X Motherboard)

Please refer your motherboard manual and fix the front panel cable including power button. After this if power button is not working than swap the power button cable and reset button cable.

And then start your PC by pressing the reset button.

Else you just recheck all the cable + RAM + CPU.

My PC Will Not Start

Hi wah4pay,

this white USB plug has nothing to do with the eMachine not starting up. My guess about the white USB is it might be for your printer (If you have one). USB cable supplies 5volts DC only which it not enough to power a desktop or laptop PC.
As far as why the PC will not start, check the back side of the tower. See if the main power cable is plugged into the power supply & it also is plugged into a working wall outlet. There is a small RED slide switch on the back of the power supply. Make sure you can see the numbers & letter, 115v.
If the switch is set to 230v move it to 115v. Try starting the PC.
See this mini video of the T3646, you'll notice there are two USB ports on the back side of the PC & two more on the front of the case:

If this is a new PC, it most likely came with a one year warranty. You should call eMachine for free support. Your documentation will provide a phone number for support.
If your eMachine is not new or no longer under warranty let me know by posting here & I'll give you some other possible suggestions that may help get the system to start. Please include the year bought & month

T3624 MB someone pulled off the 3 wire pairs to the front bezel. What's the pin out for the 2 leds & power on??

According to the internet, your computer has an Intel 845GV chipset motherboard. Intel tends to use a generic pattern for connecting the front panel connectors. A description can be found on intel's site.
If this doesn't solve your problem, comment back with the motherboard model number. Look on the board, it should be printed somewhere, and it should start with D845GV...something something...

No Power up on depressing On/Off button.

Sometimes if the CPU is overheatign it will power down to stop the cpu from buring out. A power suppluy just supplies power to the motherboard and that's it. If the CPU gets hot it shuts down and wont start till it cools down again.
