Question about Edimax BR-6104K Router (br6104k)
Hello everyone (sorry for stammerer english). I need for help with 6104kp installation. There are 2PC's (WIN XP pro), HP printer and Thomson modem. I had checked the cables on a working net so they are not the problem. Also the modem is. I can surf the net with PC and the modem connected directly. When I connected the PC's and the modem to the router I have been reported that there was no connectivity, the router's leds turned on as recognized the connection. The "Repair" command didn't succeed to "renew the IP address" on both stations and I was suggested to contact the network manager. Next step I checked the connection status details: I got physical address, IP address and subnet address, but not the default gateway, dns server and wins server as described in the installation guide. Please advice... Omer
You dont state if you are on adsl (type) or cable
if its cable set the modem to clone the mac address of your pc.
This is done via the quick setup choosing cable modem.
if using pppoe choose that setting and insert your isp username and password

Please proceed with the following instruction as follow.
1.) Connect first the modem to your pc, if you find it is working then get the IP Address, Subnet, Gateway, Primary DNS, Alternative DNS at the network properties TCP/IP.
2.) Open your router where you can configure the static IP or manually enter the IP address, subnet, gateway, primary dns, alternative dns.
3.) Make it sure you used the cable properly by connecting it to the appropriate line. For the modem to router you should connect the cable to WAN port. And the LAN port must be go through the computer.
If you still experience the problem, please let me know.
