I have installed this software on a Vista Operating system and most things work (after some tweeking here and there)except when I go to create the resume. This is when I get a runtime '429' error "ActiveX component can't create object" I click OK and am then taken out of the software entirely.

The game must have been corrupted. The only way is to uninstall it then reinstall it again. Also make sure that your pc meets the system requirements to run the game. Free up your disk space too, before you reinstall the game.
Runtime error is possibly the Java runtime enviroment installed is not up to date for the programs you are installing, I had a similar problem with X3 reunion, goto sunmicrosystems.com and download the latest. It's not a definate answer, just a possible one.

Have you re-installed the software since you upgraded your Operating System? Most likely you will have to remove and re-install your software, since your new operating system doesn't seem to want to recognize the previous installation. In extreme cases, for instance where the software cannot be re-installed due to errors while installing; the registry may have to be cleansed of the old software before re-installing. Due to the danger of future problems if a programming mis-step occurs during this process, inexperienced users are best advised to format their HDD, re-install the Operating System and all extraneous software. It is a long process (usually a few days if I have to do this to mine) but well worth it in the frustration it will save later. Let us know if you need further advice or help, if re-installing doesn't correct the problem or if you want advice on re-formatting and re-installing your Operating System.
