This is probably not a leakage issue. However, the door has to be removed and disassembled (or replaced) to reset the glass. By DHHS rules, anyone who performs a door repair is required to perform a microwave leakage test with an approved 'Microwave Survey Meter' How old is this unit?.

Neff combi oven - Cuts out after replacing glass in door Neff C67M70N3GB

I have two thoughts, both guesswork based on knowledge gained by researching answers here on Fixya.

If you removed the door completely, the safety microswitches need re-adjusting. The door and hinges usually has three or sometimes 4 to make it impossible to use the oven with the door open.

Or, modern ovens have a safety catch under the glass edges that won't allow the oven to work if there is NO glass on the inside, or no glass on the outside. In other words, there must be 2 (or 3) panes of glass to stop children, old folks and pets getting burned by door glass that is the same temperature as a oven.

The final possibility is that the microwave failing is coincidental and not related to the door glass being replaced!

How to fix outside glass on door of Dometic Microwave

Microwave doors are normally glued together, and can't be repaired. You just replace the door. According to this the door is not available, so unless you can find a door in stock somewhere else, or direct from Dometic, you have to replace the whole microwave.

Page 20 of the Service Manual does give door disassembly instructions. You have to check for microwave leakage emissions after replacing.

The outside glass on the microwave door has slipped down. Is that dangerous and can it be fixed?

Its not real good as it could shatter if door closed hard and there to protect against microwave radiation on the front.

A repair shop who looks at this will know first if door can be opened up and fixed or the door will have to be replaced.

The clear coating inside the glass door is crumbling. Dangerous?

It depends on how much the radiation is dissipated. Normally the grill on the door prevents and escape of radiation and so this cannot be a threat but a reading outside the door will be good to confirm and if so the door must be replaced.

How to replace inner glass panel on Neff H7871 microwave

Hi Bill, I am having a same problem I have managed to order the glass from:-

http://www.4neff.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=876912&query=Neff%20H7871N1GB%2f01&model=H7871N1GB&path=127858

1. Open the door.

2. Take out the 2 screws just behind the handle, on the inside of the door, the door should flop down at the handle end.

3. Hold the door handle and pull the door out. It is only housed in by a slip in hooks at the bottom end.

4. Once you remove the door you will see the inner metal mesh and the inner door behind it.

5. Remove the 16 screws holding the inner glass with a special star type screw driver bit no T30.

6. Once you done that the glass housing holding the inner glass can be carefully prised free and taken off the inner door assembley.

7. Once you done that remove and inner glass, and be carefull to leave the glass glass seal intact, clean around the frame housing and the seal then replace the new inner glass and reverse the process.

PS. Becareful of the inner door once you've removed the outer door, as the hinges holding the inner door tend to shut quickly as there is less weight on the hinges.

It will do the job if you follow these instructions.Good Luck. AL

LG Microwave Countertop Microwave Oven LRM2060 ST. The glass on the outside of the microwave door is broken. Can you order just the glass from somewhere and can I fix it myself?

Due to the serious potential for RF leakage, these doors are normally sold as a complete unit assembled by the manufacturer. I could only find the door listed at repairclinic.com for about $80. If you wish to repair yourself, the old door comes off by opening it all the way and lifting straight up at the hinges. The door will then lift off the hinge pins. Reinstall the door new door by aligning it with the hinge pins and allow it to seat straight down. A simple repair.

If you have any questions about this repair, or require addtional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Condensation inbetween glass door on GE Spacemaker

Your glass seal has failed and I doubt it makes sense to replace the door. Yes, it can be dangerous as the moisture becomes worse you risk the chance the glass could over-heat and blow out. Sounds like you need to replace it, sorry!

Microwave door glass has slipped down into the frame

What usually happens is there are tabs on one of the inner door panels that holds the glass up.

If one tabs breaks, the other one soon will, then the glass slips down.

If the mesh / screen is still in place and undamaged, and the door is otherwise undamaged, there shouldn't be any leakage.

You or someone you know may be able to take the door apart and use epoxy to fashion new retainers for the glass.

Or you can usually order the specific door panel piece that you need but if you want to, please reply back with your brand and model number so we can help you.

You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
