Re: how to make my laptop wireless

On your lap to you should see on the F keys a wireless icon. something like a stick with a bean coming off it. If you press the FN key then that F key with the wirelss icon on it that should turn on your wireless card. Let me know if that works.

Can't connect to internet,Computer says i am but can't browse still

Wireless Zero Configuration was first introduced with Windows XP. In Windows Vista it was renamed to "WLAN AutoConfig".
Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) or WLAN AutoConfig is a service included with modern versions of Microsoft Windows that dynamically selects a wireless network to connect to base on a user's preferences and various settings. This can be used instead (or in the absence) of a wireless network utility from the manufacturer of a computer's wireless networking device.
To join a wireless network:
  1. Open the Start menu and click Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel Home window, click View network status and tasks.
If you are using Classic View, double- click Network and Sharing Center
Click Connect to a network.
Select your network from the list and click Connect.
If security is enabled on the network, you will be asked to type your network security key or passphrase for your AP/router. After typing security key, click Connect.
and keep follows the prompt.

Im trying to put a new seagate 40gb sata hdrive into my hp nc6320,when i try to load xp to install it tells me there is no hard drive in the computer

New Hard drives do not come with an operating system on them. It's basically a blank disc. You would need to have an XP operating installation disc or the original system restore discs that came with your computer in order to load the XP operating system. If you do not have either of these discs, you will need to purchase an operating system and install it so that you have something on the hard drive to run.

I have the d-link G700AP wireless access point that works well with my thinkpad laptop. I want to know if I can connect to a wireless printer soon to be purchased

You should be able to connect to a wireless printer. Before trying to connect it just read the instructions supplied with the printer and do a dummy run without turning anything on so you have an idea what you should be doing.

Make sure you're installing the right drivers for your version of windows, if not on the disc, download them from the manufacturers website.

I am trying to connect a new laptop to my home network. The wireless connection indicates that it is connected to the internet, but i canno get to the internet. I have statically assigned an IP like...

Internet explorer... Under the address bar you should see "file, view edit, favorites, tools and help" click on tools, internet options and go to the connections tab. make sure you have nothing in the white box then click on LAN settings. I bet you have "proxy settings" checked. None of the boxes should be checked.

Laptop won't work on wireless connection

When you say nothing shows up , are you talking about the internet ? More info there.

Try some generic things first. Go to the bottom right corner where the icons are. Right click on your wireless icon , and then choose repair. See if that helps.

Also, check the status of your firewalls to see if that is what is keeping you from connecting. I won't tell anyone to disable their firewalls, but windows firewall gave me such headaches, I switched to the free one from Zonelabs and it works nicely and is much more intuitive.

Write back if that doesn't seem to help and we'll go from there.

Wi fi problem

You can try to restore your system to an earlier point, maybe you changed somenthing into your settings accidentally or a new software installation moved something.
choose restore my computer to an earlier time
choose the closest system checkpoint since it worked fine click next
your system will be restared.
If it does not work you can try to an earlier point.
