The company I work for is using WEBSENSE and I cannot access yahoo messenger. I do not want to enter chat rooms, but only keep the yahoo messenger opened while I am working and receive im from my buddy...

i fthe computer do not allow you to access the yahoo messenger try to stay on line on the web version of the yahoo messenger ..This is just a web page and I think they do not thought to restrict it ..
Here is the log in page ..
(it is about the same and even allow to keep archives ...its just a little simplified ..)
By the way ..the reason you can not log from the computer directly probably cause you do not have an administrator account ..and the program is firewall-ed or something like that ..
Good luck !

Msn key ports will not fix!

Dear Friend,
First of all, always check the status of your web browser before signing in to windows hotmail messenger. That means that if you try to sing in, be sure that work offline mode in your browser is not checked.Secondly, have you run the MSN MESSENGER port configuration?Third and most important, have you opened the ports in your firewall?
Here is the list of thee ports that MSN Messenger uses:
1366 MSN Messenger
1367 MSN Messenger
1838 : TCP MSN Messenger (Gamevoice)
1863 : TCP/UDP MSN Messenger primary (incoming)
5190 : UDP MSN Messenger (incoming)
6891 : TCP MSN Messenger Filetransfer (incoming) - ports 6891 - 6900, one port per file transfer
6901 : TCP/UDP MSN Messenger Voice Telephony (incoming)

5004 : UDP MSN Messenger, ports 5004-65535. Used for AUDIO and VIDEO. Caution: securty risc! Do not open ALL these ports!
5004 : UDP MSN messenger (dynamically uses a port in this range 5004 – 65535 - requires uPNP in your NAT router and/or firewall). Used for AUDIO and VIDEO. See Microsoft website for details....

Good Luck!

Problem with router; Msn gets disconnected frequently.

It could be the proxy or firwall setting in the router.
you need to open the router page and check the firewall and proxy setting ..

or you can download the tool from the below site
and it will take off all proxy setting and you winows messenger should work.

This should help you identifing if its a proxy issu.

THanks & all the best

Msn not receiving messages

I might advised you try reinstalling the MSN on your computer. It might the main problem is on the software that was been install before.

Note: If the Internet is working properly then if you can surf to the Internet. It means that the connection is working properly. Did you check if some of the messenger is working?

Can not connect to msn now i have a belkin router

what is the error message that you are getting when trying to sign in to MSN and what is your MSN version? Also, was MSN configured for dial-up internet access prior to the issue? It is possible that your msn browser is not configured to work with your new wireless connection. You may just need to set your connection settings in MSN to use your current internet connection. MSN Technical Support can give you the accurate steps in adjusting the MSN connection settings. you may reach them at

Downloads time out

Most routers have a reset button. This will reset the router back to the factory defaults. I suggest trying this and see if it helps. If so, then check belkins site and see if you can upgrade the firmware so this will not happen again, hopefully.
