Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer

Spots on page (by 2 users)

posted by aschnaps on Oct 02, 2007

I have been getting tiny black spots on my printed pages. I opened the printer and took out the cartridge and noticed lots of black dust or toner. Help.

Get black spots on page. Actually changed printers, not just toner, and still get these from a brand new printer. Any suggestions?

You need to clean the drum unit (use a soft cloth and/or a soft paint brush) and also slide the blue slider a couple of times to clean the wire.

Clean out the toner spillage as best as you can. Your not supposed to use one, but a vacuum is the best method to suck it up.

Once clean, replace the image drum (photoconductor unit). Also make sure the laser lens glass panel is clean - wipe it with a soft cloth or tissue.
