Question about Philips Magnavox 20MS233S 20" TV
Is the television staying on and going blank or is it completely turning off? I ask because a piece of electronic equipment that turns on, but then immediately shuts off normally is a clear indicator that there are some capacitors that need replacing. If this is the issue, take a look at the capacitors on the board (they look like cylinder batteries standing on end) and see if you notice any with bulging ends or leaking some fluid (it will look like battery acid). If you find this, then you've found your culprit and a $5 shopping spree at Radio Shack will be enough to fix your problem :)
