The gps does not boot

The gps starts up and within 2 seconds it shuts off, the battery is brand new (original). Even with the ac adaptor the same problem occurs.

Use with caution: This will delete your user data on the unit.

Try a reset:

  • Hold QUIT pressed when turning unit ON (will delete waypoints, routes and tracklogs)
(This worked for me when I had a similar problem.)

You could try a master reset;
  • Hold Zoom-OUT + QUIT + NAV and power ON. Hold keys for 10-12 seconds.
  • You lose all almanac and temperature compensation tables (it
  • reconstructs itself but takes time - several hours)
  • Be patient - it will take HOURS for the unit to recover
Fair warning: I have not personally tried the master reset.

Batery won't charge new battery n plug

You may have the wrong AC adaptor, Dell is very picky when it comes to Power adaptors, it must be original OEM Dell for the laptop to recognize it, any after market no name brand even though it has the right specs and is made for your model will power your laptop but the circuit to charge your battery will automatically be closed

Sorry about my english... when i turn on my hp mini 210-1170nr it just start cpu fan and power on the caps lock light... just that... no boot no display... just black screen. anyone know how to fix it.

1.Mo Bradley says do this:
• 1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
• 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS

2.That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

Replace your battery.

3.Did this help you? If so Mo Bradley has one more quick tip to save your pocket.

I would like you to save on the high cost of replacement printer ink and I implore you not to buy Original Brand replacement ink. This is the rip off of the century and the Original Brand companies are not even ashamed. Try this website http://www.usainktank.com/ for ink which is mostly under $4.00 each (even HP ink) or if they don't have your printer model try some of the other suppliers of off brand printer ink. In the past I have used http://www.4inks.com/ and http://www.123inks.com/. They all have good quality off brand cartridges that will save you so much money.

Acer battery no charge/plugged in "battery is criticically low"

This is a tricky issue, it's either a problem related to the battery or the adaptor.

Try removing the battery and just plug in the adaptor and see if the computer will boot. If it does then there's a problem with the battery and you just need to replace it, if it doesn't then there's a few other things it could be.

The two most likely options is that the adaptor is bad, or the AC port on the computer has become loose. Most of the computers I've repaired that had these symptoms was that the AC port was bad if the battery wasn't. The best way to test this is to plug in the adaptor and just see if it wiggles around a lot, if it's loose then it might not be connecting to the board correctly and will need to be soldered bad on. If it's not loose then the adaptor might be bad, you can test another adaptor on your laptop or that adaptor on someone else's but be carefull, I can't stress this enough, if you're going to switch adaptors you have to make sure that the voltage IS EXACTLY THE SAME and has the same amps, if the voltage is off you can damage the computer, if the amps is off you can damage the adaptor.

If by some fluke it doesn't seem to be the battery, and you tested the adaptor and the AC port doesn't feel loose, then the charging circuit in the laptop might be shot, in which case you'll need a new motherboard.

I think that covers everything, sorry for the wall of text

My Acer Aspire 9805 battery was replaced. For

It could be an AC adaptor issue.

It should boot when connected directly to the power outlet through the laptop adaptor. If it is not boot, then the adaptor might not be supplying the needed power to boot it up.

If it is possible, try to isolate the issue. Charge your new battery using another laptop. Then plug it in your laptop to see if it works. If it will work, then it is the AC adaptor of your laptop that is defective. If the charged battery still won't make the laptop boot, then there is something wrong with your laptop hardware. If could be a motherboard issue of your laptop.

TomTom ONE GPS receiver waiting for a valid GPS signal forever...

well the reset button is behind the front face cover. However I doubt this will do much for you.

Reasons for not connection.
1) Battery is too low and needs full recharge via AC adapter
2) Poor position or being overshadowed by buildings or other electronic devices

3) Dead SIIRF chip caused by starting motor with the GPS plugged to DC power. Might work a 100 times without problem 101 kills it. The whole mother board needs to be changed. Cost often exceeds value.
No device should be connected when staring engine. Even a fused DC adaptor somketimes does not blow the fuse when spiked and will allow enough spike to pass to kill this delicate echip. Even mobile phones will suffer this problem pooof! gone within 10 seconds!

The eraticness may be a faulty charged batterty but I doubt it.

Please rate our help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

Keeps powering on and off.

Keep in mind since you cleaned it out, only have the AC adaptor hooked up to rule the battery out. If the laptop stays on with only the ac adaptor hooked up and doesn't shut off then you know that the battery is faulty. If it still shuts off even with just the ac adaptor hooked up then it could be the ac adaptor.

Also check one more thing, with only the ac adaptor hooked up, wiggle the cord where it plugs into the laptop and see if the laptop shuts off, if it does then the dc jack on the motherboard is loose and needs to be resoldered back into place so it stays put.

BATTERY PROBLEMS?

Hi

Latitude D620 battery module has a battery charge tester. First remove the battery or turn the laptop over and press the battery icon and the note the battery LED indication.

If there is no LEDs lite, shut down the laptop, connected the power Adaptor, install the battery and check if the battery charge LED lites up.

If it doesn't double check the power Adaptor. Latitude D620 is rated to use a 90W Adaptor. There is a 60W Adaptor (looks very similar to) but this is for other Latitudes and AMD Vostro systems.

If the Adaptor has the correct rating, then check below for more info;

1) [Very Likely] The battery may be faulty or end-of-life and needs replacing. Check the battery connector on the Latitude and battery itself for any broken or bent pins or bits.

2) [Possible] You have the wrong power Adaptor or the Adaptor is faulty. This however would not explain why the battery is undetected.

Start up the Latitude into System BIOS (F2). Under System > Battery information check the battery and AC Adaptor status

If the Latitude D620 has warranty you may open a warranty claim with Dell Support.

Lap top problem

Hi

If the AC power light is blinking, try the following steps:

1 Cut off power to the computer by disconnecting the AC adaptor and removing the battery. The error condition will be interrupted, and the AC power light will stop flashing.

2 Put the battery back into the computer. Do not connect the AC adaptor. Try turning the computer on again. If the computer starts normally, the AC adaptor may be
defective and will need to be replaced. If the AC power light starts flashing, remove the battery, and continue with the steps below.

3 Connect the AC adaptor to the computer. Leave the battery out of the computer. Try turning the computer on again. If the computer starts normally, the battery may need charging, may be depleted, or may be defective. Turn the computer on, insert the battery, and then leave the computer running for several hours, which will deliver a slow, steady “trickle-charge” to the battery. Once the battery has been trickle-charged, it may begin working correctly again. If the trickle-charging does not prove effective, consider replacing the battery with a new one.

4 Connect the AC adaptor to a different power outlet, preferably in a different room. If the computer starts normally, there may be a problem with the AC outlet itself, or the voltage level available from it.

5 Verify that the AC adaptor is the correct unit for your computer model. The computer may not be able to start from an AC adaptor that is rated for less current (amperage) than the computer requires, even if the rated voltage is correct, and the plug fits correctly in the DC-IN socket. The labels on the bottom of the computer and the AC adaptor show the specifications for voltage ("V") and current ("A") for each device. The voltage level must match exactly. The amperage rating of the AC adaptor must be equal to or greater than that required by the computer

Mike

Nc6320 Laptop power

hello the first thing to make sure of is that the ac adaptor cable is not having any partial contacts ofany kind whereby power gets into the laptop irregularly.this could have adverse effect on the circuitry. it is not enough just checking the output of the ac adapter by a meter.try straighten the cable from the adapter and check the meter for voltage fluctuations. if the above is okay then the problem could be on board leve.
