Ht-q70 shut itself off and posted the phrase 'protection' It is a 5 dvd player with built-in amplifier and the rep said that a fan was not working and it shut itself off to protect from overheating. It will not turn itself back on for any length of time and there are still cds/dvds inside of it. Is it worth getting it repaired, can I order a fan? Samsung says 160 dollars to repair it.

SOURCE: how do i connect/play my turntable?

Hi sorry to say cant go direct.

What you can do if really want it running is get a RIAA pre amp with power supply (search google local shops). The turn table plugs into that, then that plugs into one of the analogue inputs of the Q70. That will work great if prepared for the effort!

Best of luck

I have a samsung ht -tx 22 dvd home cinema system and for sometime now, the screen shows PROTECTION and it reverts to standby mode by itself.. Need help badly as sometimes it plays for 1 to 5 minutes and...

Check all your cables, connections and speakers. If they are all good, then either there is a fault on the protection circuit or the power amp has a fault on it. If the unit has a fan built into it check that is working. Sometimes the fan can get blocked up.

Our Samsung HT-C6900W Theater System shut off yesterday and then said it was in protect mode, now we cant get it turn on. This system is only 3 months old. Can you help?

The problem is with the amplifier overheating so the system shuts down to protect itself.

Make sure the ventilation fan is not block or obstructed.

If this is OK then contact your supplier with the equipments warranty.

Everytime I turn my on samsung ht-q70 the display screen says protection and the system shuts off. what can i do to get the protection off

The amplifier has a bad channel, or is bad itself. It is trying to either output too much current or is not putting out enough. If you have multiple speakers wired to one channel, you will either have to change the wiring to series(unit positive to first speaker red, first red to second BLACK, second red to unit negative) or remove on speaker. (If this is the case, then you might want to look at this. It is a tip/rick to place and properly/successfully run three subwoofers, but the main concept can be used on all channels.) If all channels are wired to he correct speaker, then the amp is in fact at fault.

"Protect" error - HTZ110

Home Theater System Is Displaying "Protection" spacer.gif As soon as the unit is turned on, the word "PROTECTION" will flash on the front panel of the unit and SHUT OFF. This error message usually indicates that the fan in the back of the unit is not on.

The PROTECTION feature automatically shuts down the unit to avoid further damage. The unit will need service if this error message is displayed.

My Samsung HT-40 home theater system throws itself into protection mode and shuts down. I put a new fan motor in but it insists on shutting down anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes of operation. No dust...

The fan is going bad and if you have replaced it try to open the case and remove the cover over all the capaciters and what not and replace that fan in the back then cut a hole in the top of the metal case directly about the cap's that warm up and install a aditional fan to act as a chimney a little noisy but i did this and the player had been runing in aux and radio mode for a few days stright now no problems at all it's alot of work and skill but for 2 5-15 dolar fans sure beats the 160 for repair or buying a new recever! make sure u turn on the recever for 10 min if the fan is not turning by then its still not good
