Can't install it; lost disk

Try not using the install wizard. Windows should install the correct drivers if you just plug in the USB cable.

In order for you to install the printer without the setup disc , you need to download the printer software from this link and use the software to install the printer.

Get an SD card reader and recover the camera files.
If they are still readable, then post back a comment and I'll look at my 4250.

of course your not, all HP Printer C4250 are design to have install with Disc Support Utilities, if you don't have a disc of course you can download at its own website and you know that... your always online so go to the website, www.hp.com

You do not connect the USB cable until you run the software and it prompts you to connect it.

I'm assuming that somewhere in the manual it shows you how to change the language. If not, call them up and make them help you (a good customer) figure it out.
