Question about Intel Motherboard
I bought this board from a friend and didnt get the case to it. i need to find out where it I/0 cable hooks to so i can have a way to power it on and off. here is what i know so far it is a 277977-001 board and was removed from a Compaq Evo D500 Ultra-slim Desktop. tnx in advanced.
Try this link. This is Compaq's/Hp's download/driver support. You can find a manual there where you can see the motherboard in a Compaq Evo D500 Ultra slim Desktop and look for its motherboard diagram. Hope this helps. copy this link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&lang=en&cc=us&docIndexId=64180&taskId=101&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=322601#5

Hi, If you use a torch and if necessary a magnifying glass and study your board. The row of pins nearest to the front of the case are where your case switch and LED light cables connect.
On all boards these are marked next to the pair of pins do what.
r/sw= reset switch: pwr= power on switch hdd equals Hard drive LED and so on. You can test this using a small screw driver and bridging out 2 pins at a time, this will not hurt your board as there is only very low voltage in this area. When you plug in the LED cables they have to be on the correct + or - pins, if they do not work just reverse the plug. you can not do any harm.

Generaly, the little connectors on the printed side will face the bottom of the case. Also, typically, Black is negative, and white/colour is positive (except on the power sw, it doesn't matter). On the motherboard, where the connectors go, there should be some kind of print saying where to plug them in. (IE, POWER SW, would go into PWR, and HDD LED would go into HDLED and POWER LED would go into PWRLED).
It may look different than this, but generally the same kind of layout, as you can see, it shows the positions, as well as positive and negative.
Unfortunetely, I can't seem to find a schematic for the Compaq 277977-001 motherboard. I will try and find one, but I hope this helps you out with what you are trying to do...
