Question about Quantum Fireball Lct20 40 GB ATA-100 Hard Drive
I have 400GB HDD SATA that for some reason had 2 data pins out and 1 jumper pin out. I soldered them back but the circuit diagram at the back of the HDD get hot everytime i plug it. what can i do. I need that HDD. it is the only one i have.
It is normal that hard drives get hot to an extent....beause of a higher RPM..... if it seems heating extremely you should do something to cool it. Soldering the pins may not have caused the problem... When the system is assembled it is kept close to the chassis and screwed thouroughly to avoid shokes and to dissipiate the heat. You also follow the giudelines on the manaul or more information from the drive manufacturer's website.
