Good day,
How long your washing machine? for the machine without power if electronic type of washing machine it will cost you a lot but defend on the model. and not to advise to buy the part without any idea what the exactly the problem, most the electronic type washing machine have a PCB problem, if you buy directly for the part but you dont have the cause why it happen, may be if you put new part will do the same or its will waste your new part.
as an advise as a technician, call the technician and ask how much its cost? for labor and part?
if the cost is halt price of the unit? what or how many month for warranty for the part and service? make think to buy for the new one if your unit is more than 5 years.

SOURCE: No power to washing machine

If this machine is totally dead and it tripped your home electrics - (which is probably a 30amp fuse) means that it is likely a serious fault in the machine. :-(

Washing machines take out ring main fuses if there are faults in the washers heater unit, motor or suppressor. Also water may have breached a seal somewhere and cause a short inside the electrical compartments. The flash you saw was probably some sensitive electronics and any smaller internal fuse popping. It is possible that simply replacing internal fuse will result in doing more damage once power is restored.

To fix a fusing washing machine you have to use a diagnostic electrical meter that puts high voltage across the appliance - Not something I can offer more info on. So whatever has happened (and in the interest of safety) you would probably want a qualified proffessional to take a look or as a last resort a hotpoint engineer!

Kind Regards

SOURCE: Miele Washing Machine - Novotronic W827

Give the door a firm push shut (even if it appears shut already). There is a safety mechanism that stops the door opening when drum is turning and it gets its knickers in a twist sometimes. Happened to me twice in the last 5 years and can never remember how to fix so end up ringing Miele support who are always helpful. Next time I'll look here first!

SOURCE: LG 1412RD Tips main fuse.

You have a dead short either in your breaker box or the plug in. Chances are it is your receptacle.
