Question about iLO XM-MP3-CD Car Stereo

1 Answer

No audio I installed an iLO XM-MP3-CD Car Stereo in a Toyota 4 Runner and there is no sound. I bought a wiring harness from best buy that had plugs on the end for an amplifier. It is all wired properly by color according to the paperwork but there is no sound. CD player looks to be working and the radio tunes and such but no sound. I checked the web but the wires look correct.

Radio/CD player has power -gets no sound

unplug the radio harness and check for ground on all the speaker lead's. if there is ground on a speaker wire then there is a problem on that particular speaker and if you disconnect all the other speaker should work if not then i would assume the actual unit is defective

Car stereo cuts out

It is possible a self-protect feature may be shutting down output. Check all of your wiring, following the manufacturer's instructions exactly. Faulty wiring is a major cause of poofed audio output devices in car audio. Any short in wiring, or an open (intermittent or otherwise) can cause a problem here. Internally, bad solder connections where the output devices solder to the board could cause problems too.

Replacing a stereo into a 2005 Saturn Ion

not sure if your still looking for a solution or not but here you go. that orange and white wire is normally the wire that controls the dimmer within the stereo. when you dim the dash light the factory radio lights dim and that wire is suppose to make the new radio do that also. in my past i have found that only about 30 percent of the aftermarket radios actually do that when hooked up. give this a try and let me know. good luck

Need a dash installation kit for a 3.5" screen in-dash stereo.

You can find that at a walmart or a local car audio shop. Depending on the make and model of your vehicle will decide wether it is in stock or not. Good luck.

ILO XM-MP3-CD Car Stereo wiring

they all use the same colors. Every CD/DVD player manufacturer uses the same color scheme on all the same wires.

If you're asking what the right wires are in your car i'd get a wiring harness and just match up the wires and plug it in.

However if you're just going to cut off the car wiring harness and splice everything in go to and use the guides they have.

Wont play full length

The Ilo can only play 30 seconds of video per clip. I'm afraid the only real workaround is to trim the video down to 30 second segments and number them in sequence so that the videos play relatively seamlessly. Thankfully, Ilo had the foresight to include a CD-rom with video editing software on it to allow you to do this, but any video editing program that can manage AVI formats will work.
