Re: realtek ac'97 with xp pro

The reason is possibly because the 4600 does not have the Realtek sound chip or sound card, it is probably a soundblaster and that is why the pc crashes as the driver does not match the audio, see the below link for the correct drivers.

My computer model Acer Power series FV530 model today i Installed Window XP in Drive D:/. After that i couldnt get audio What can i do for this problem Kindly assist me

First check you have drivers installed. RMB My computer - Manage - Device manager - scroll down the list see if there are any yellow question marks. If so you need to install drivers for those devices. Also check for disabled devices (red x) they'll need enabling.

If you don't have an audio driver, try this:-

Download the
Realtek AC'97 Audio Driver

Its a generic driver, good for most PC's

I accidently uninstalled realtek ac97 audio from my laptop

Below are two links where you can find the drivers for your sound card.
After downloadiing them follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

You can also do it through your Device Manager console.

You might want to also try the realtek website for more info.
Hope everything works fine

RealTek AC Audio97

hi sweets6;
did you uninstall the old drivers before you install the new one? try to un-install it first by right clicking the audio device then select un-install, restart, then install the driver, restart and try to see if it works.

let me know :)

No sound on my computer.

Check the BIOS settings in your computer to see if the sound was turned off.
