Despite settings set to do so automatically, pics will not download/transfer to computer. They will not download either even if I open the Picture Project software and click on transfer, nothing happens.

- I changed it, slid it to opposite side, now when camera comes on it says ' Memory Card is write protected'. Any other ideas?
Here's a silly suggestion for you... is the "lock" engaged on your memory card? It will be a small sliding lock portion on the SD card. If yes, unlock it and try again.

- I once bought a card on sale, used it right from the package.. Turns out it wasn't formatted so the pictures remain on the card to this day. Have you used this card before (previous transfers)?
The only other solution I can think of is a faulty USB cable (if that's how you're transferiing the pix), some cameras have proprietory cables, some use standard USB cables, if it's a standard cable try using a different one. My computer has a card reader in the side. Try removing the card from the camera and installing the reader in your computer.
Hope it works for you, I wish I could have been more help. Some photo print shops can download pix. They may be able to help if you can't get it to work.

I'm running Windows 98, and I've tried searching for a driver that supports my OS, so I don't have to mooch off my friend's computer to upload photos. Is there one I can download to make my camera accessible through my computer? I've tried installing the driver from the Picture Project disk that came with the camera, and also this driver I found on Nikon's European site (it appears to not install anything at all, despite it's claims that Win98 is supported). If I can't find anything, I may just have to give in and buy a USB flash reader for my SD card, but I'd REALLY like something else to work before I go buying something new to support it.
Please send me the driver by which i can see tha pictures through my windows98 version pc.model of camera is Nikkon P50.
