Question about HP vs15 15"LCD Flat Panel Monitor

HP 15 inch lcd monitor

My lcd worked well for about 6 months. But now sometimes I see ghost images specially icons means a small light line near original line. If I remove power cord and again put it back, it gets solved. But after it can happen again after some time. I have same kind of problem with another set of hp lcd also.

Re: HP 15 inch lcd monitor

This sounds like you have a problem in your power supply. The capacitors in the power supply "clean" up the voltage and provide you with a steady power source. When the capacitors go bad you can be left with either a power deficit of a power surplus which could cause the problems that you are experiencing. Capacitors are pretty hard working devices that are much like batteries but charge and discharge really fast. Capacitors work really hard in a power supply and its not uncommon when they fail. Unfortunately the only thing you can do here is either purchase a new power board or if you feel brave, look at the caps on your power board and swap them out with new ones. They're pretty cheap and you might learn something.

Double image on screen

Usualy in these cases I check the VGA cable. If you can buy new one, but not cheap one will solve the problem. Just to be sure that this is your problem hold the small vga cable cylinders with your hands for 5-6 seconds. When you release them you shouldn't see the ghost image on your screen. It sounds weird but it works. By holding these cylinders you remove the static electricity of the cable. Try to understand what device around your monitor causes the problem. The cause also may be lot of power cables or power sources near the VGA cable.

This monitor has no volume. The volume is controlled by the computer connected to the monitor, and not controlling the monitor itself.

To regulate volume on computer, click on the small audio icon near to the clock, or locate the audio settings icon in control panel.

Westinghouse LCM-22W2 has "ghosting"

Usually, LCD monitor ghosting appears when the cable isn't tight, the cable is faulty, or low quality. The cable should be less than 8-10 feet long. Try using a different monitor cable (they're mostly interchangable) and see if the problem goes away. I'd put my money on the cable or a loose cable connection.

Ghost Image

Are they both about the same age? Also have you recently added a device that is sitting near the monitors such a an external hard drive, printer, new speakers or power cord or cable next to or against the monitor cable? I sounds like EMI to me, shield the cable or plug of the offending devices into another outlet away from the monitors to test that theory, or having them on a separate surge protector should eliminate the noise you are reporting. Some go as far as adding UPS with line filtering (or conditioning) for the devices - you see it with home theater setups when the TV, computer, games and stereo are all plugged in the same outlets on the same home circuit.
