Question about Kenmore 74642 Gas Dryer
FixYa, Houston, we have a problem. The dryer will run but there is no heat from the dryer. The dryer first seem to heat up for the first 20 minutes or so and some time it wouldn't heat at all but other it will heat up just fine..... and you guess that right, it is no longer heating even after I changed out the ignitor. I looked at the part list for this dryer and saw a couple of things that rise a question in my head but I thought that I want to ask the pro before I spend time swapping all the parts out and with my luck, the last part always be the right one ;-). Breaking a sweat a no stranger to me but I like to know some tip and trick on how to check to see if the gas is flowing to the ignitor? If the ignitor is getting power to glow after pushed the "Start" switch? For me, the sky is the limit but unfortunately I mostly have tools for cars, PC and garden. Please help. Thank you in advance and have a wonderful day.
Replace the coil packs on the gas valve this fixes 90% of gas dryers lighting intermittently. Of course first thing to verify is gas supply. Dont forget to rate my solution as solved if I accurately answered your question...Thanks!!
