Our IT people messed with my registry, and screwed up my iTunes

when tryiong to fix an issue with my DVD burner, my iTunes now does not work correctly. iTunes is not supported at work, so they wont help fix the problem. I get the following error when iTunes opens:
''The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.''
Rei-installing has had no effect, nor has some of the fixes I tried from online help.

- Windows XP. I have un-installled/re-installed itunes 3 times, re-booting in between.Clarification Request

What O/S do you run? W2K, WXP, Vista?
Did you do a complete uninstall of iTunes and reboot the PC prior to attempting to re-install? If not, I suggest that you try that first.
