And since you can't even get it booted at the moment, see
here for an explanation of that 0x...24 error code, which indicates a problem with the file system driver or the drive itself. You will need to run the chkdsk utility from a recovery disk or recovery console to determine this.
It's possible that since your optical drive is not functioning, that the driver for that drive is causing the problem, but if you don't have the recovery console installed and can't run a recovery disk, you may have to take it to a shop just to get it booted on another hard drive.
