The only solution I, personally, can help any of you with is to buy a good working model. i.e. Mine! I am upgrading to a 7.1 Onkyo and do not need mine any longer. Send me an email and I will gladly sell it to you! $75 (no remote) But you already have one so... (passme23@hotmail.com)

Thanks for stopping by:

DC error indicates the radio has detected a GROUND on an AC output IC leg, and shuts down to prevent further damage.

This is typically caused by a blown speaker, cracked or worn wire contacting chassis metal, or a failed IC.

Disconnect and test all speakers to ensure the voicecoils are good.

Visually inspect the speaker's surrounds to make sure there are no tears or missing pieces. They need to surround for the voicecoil to stay linear to the polepiece.

Try out the radio with all speakers disconnected - if it still happens - the radio requires repair/replacement.

If you have additional - Just Ask.

Thanks!

Problem for Pioneer VSX-818V-K 5.1 Channels Receiver Surround sound doesn't work, display reads 2CH IN,surround speakers are enabled, automatic test will find surrand speakers

Test with an surround sound media ie. Blu-ray or DVD)_. Disconnect the front and all other speakers that are working to see if sound from the missing speakers are heard. If this doesn't work then start by tracing and checking all the wires from the receiver to the speakers for bad/shorted/open connections.

PLEASE VOTE IF THIS WAS HELPFUL. THANKS & GOOD LUCK.

Says amp error on the amp? what kind of amp? Have you checked the fuses and are you properly installed ie. remote wire to a remote power source. Properly grounded? Power wire to a constant power source? Please be more specific?

Amp Err

please check all speakers cables for short circuit-disconnect all speaker-put volume low-wait and observe it if no shut down -go to next step-connect your speaker one by one until you find the bad one, start with speaker cable(try another good cable) and then speaker.if shut down happened again while you connect nothing to your system you will have inside problem and ask for service center to fix it.

Samsung 5-Disc 1200-Watt Home Theater Surround Sound System My Home Theatre System is keeps shutting down by its self. before it shuts down the screen says protection mode and then shuts down. i have...

If the unit shuts down almost immediately without sound, you have an electronic failure of the audio amplifier.

However if you must play the unit up above quiet background levels, you likely have a shorted speaker wire. With home theater systems, you have the luxury of trying different surround modes and speaker level settings. It's not unusual, for example, to have a loose wire strand going to the center speaker. In stereo, the system works fine. As soon as you switch to a surround mode, the amplifier senses the short and shuts down to protect itself.

Check those wires really close - I bet you'll find it there.

Stand by button flashes but receiver wont turn on

I have vsx-d812 that has an AMP ERR in error menu. the troubleshooting was found to be Q696 and Q697 in the DC prot. area on "C" board, up near front toward diplay in center of c board. You can get access to error codes on VSX pioneer unit by pressing "enter" and "adv. surr." simultaneously for 2 sec. The display should show what error code you are experiencing. I believe there are three diff. error codes. 1) AMP ERR 2) OVERLOAD 3) BOAD ERR (not mistyped) I hope this helps pinpoint error code for ya.

Blinking Standby

regarding the Pioneer VSX-912 blinking standby light. This is how you reset it; press the "advanced surround" and the " enter" at the same time for about 3 seconds. Make sure you press the ENTER on the reciever (its the one on top next to the small dial) If you press the "ON" instead of "ENTER" it will not work. If an error message comes on and shuts the unit down, just reset it again. This should save you some $$$$. To bad Pioneer did't put this info in the manual.
