My problem is that when i turn on the set after over night the picture seens to bow after a few maybe up to 5 mins then the picture comes in normal. it then pops back into this bow thing and back to normal again. it than stays normal as long as the tv is on. untill shut it off and it cools down over night so we just leave the tv on all the time. want to turn it off heck the tv is not that old or been used that much it is out of warranty i have other tvs that have lasted for over 20 years and are still working. any help on this prob would be highly appreasheated if thats how its spelt thanks

I have just started having the same problem. When turned on cold the picture bows and the images have a shadow in a different color almost like the alignment is off. When the TV warms up the problem goes away. It is taking longer to go away as the problem seems to be getting worse. This TV is used very little and is just out of warranty.

It has been happening for about a month. Spends most of its time in the 'bowed' mode. Also, will occasionally flip to another mode where the individual scan lines can be seen, bright and distinct in bowed pattern at the bottom and top of the screen.

Replace the IC's as mentioned above. I had the same issue, it gets worse over time. Fixed mine for 30 bucks. Unfortunatley it seems like they are failing again i might need to install active cooling to combat the issue... need to learn how to tap into power for a couple 120mm fans. That should do it. If anyone has an idea on how to do it, contact me.

Also i have the service manual in PDF, pm me if you need it.

I need to replace the STK392-570s. I build computers but I do not know where to find the chips on the Mit. WS-65807. Anyone got any pictures of where these chips are located?

I had the exact same problem, all I did was open up the back, and use an air blower to remove the dust, and it worked fine ever since

I had a similar problem. On mine, the picture was fine for the first 5 minutes then it would start to warp as it warmed up. I had Electrasound (Columbus, OH) fix it. It was the STK392-570 chips. He charged $50 each for the chips and $275 for labor/service call. With tax, $400.31. When I called HH Gregg (where I bought it) they said my set was toast and I should come in and get a new one.

My set was purchased in July 2002

I Had mine fixed with a new STK392-570 2 required and now it works really good. Cost was $280.00

Add hdmi port to mitsubishi ws-65807

I doubt it as it was never designed for that kind of input, Component works best on this set and it should have only one HD input for a box marked in the menu as DTV.

About 10-20 minutes after I turn it on the screen breaks up into little colored lines, the image loses focus for a few seconds then it clears up, it does this 2 or 3 times in the next 5 minutes then the...

When it does this go with the Mitsubishi remote to the menu--look for convergence-then advanced= you should get a grid of yellow lines and if see red ones not lined up the set uses one or two convergence chips ( I can look for you).

It is very common for the chip/s to act up when cold or after warmup--convergence will seem to jump in and out when that happens---in 100% of the cases I have seen (about 500) replacing the chip/s cures this and for most models I have the instructions for this repair of my own from having repaired hundreds of these sets.

I have a mitsubishi ws-65807. I have no picture or sound. It used to work.

try the self check this model has, try to turn set on and when green power light comes on and goes off press and hold both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

This is a self-check this model has----the power light will then blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and then repeat it several times.

The idea here was to narrow down what area the problem is in.

Let me know with a comment here and I will tell you what the error code you found means.

I have a Mitsi WS-65807 65" Played Wii for about two hours. Lost sound then picture. Now it wont turn on. Just get a warped bluish screen with lines. Any Suggestions?

Well i need more info. have you tried unplugging the tv for around 60 seconds? Was the "warped bluish screen" right before it died. Or is this when you turn it on it happens?(Bluish screen)? Because if no power at all and no picture at all. Could be Power supply. If you have some sort of picture with blue lines that are stable? You have a convergence problem. Get back to me with info i can help.

Mitsubishi ws 65807 RED CRT

What I usually find on sets like that is that there is a loose solder joint on the CRT board itslef. You must get to the bottom of the picture tubes, pull off the CRT board from the red CRT and examine all solder joints on that board. Chances are one or more will be cracked, and resoldering all joints on the board should clear up your problem.
