Tighten minolta 10X40 j-B35

Cloudynights person says it was very difficult to get the cap off the hinge so that he could tighten it. He had to hone small screwdrivers until he could pop off that hinge (it is so well sealed for the WR rating, I suppose). Then he could get to the bolt that tightened the hinge so the binos stopped flopping about. I still don't know how he got that cap off, though.

I also have 2 eyecaps that have broken or lost.

If you haven't contacted Minolta to purchase a replacement set you could try contacting in the US. They ship international if need be. If Minolta can't help. Measure the circumference of the eyepiece and you could try a different brand of caps. Steiner Binoculars have a number of different caps and I have used their one piece cover on a number of older binoculars I have to protect the eyepiece when I am out and about. I'm in Australia and have used the above company for these parts and they are very helpful.

Dropped new Celestron Skymaster 15x70 binoculars. Nothing appears broken, but now have two images. Can I repair this. and how? Thanks. Dan

Don't "unscrew" the binoculars. there are no user servicable parts inside. the collimnation adj screws are beneath the rubber boot just under where your index fingers rest when looking through the bino's. use a jewelers screwdriver to tease the boot up and stick a small nut or something in. then put the binos on a stable surface and play with the screws a bit while watching the images. you can get them pretty close this way.
