HELP! My ps2 cant detect hard drive!

I tried to use Winhiip to convert "Monster Hunter" to the hard drive but now my ps2 cant detect it, and when i tried to access it again through Winhiip it doesn't come up as ps2 anymore and also says that it cant read it. This is really frustrating as i had other games on there that i can't access anymore. Is there anyway to fix this and get my games back and to get my ps2 to read the hard drive again? PLEASE HELP!!

Re: HELP! My ps2 cant detect hard drive!

DGR8njct, Get a USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE/2.5/3.5 Hard Drive Adapter Cable . This will allow you to access the Hard Drive from a computer USB port. It doesn't sound good for you. If you do not want to get an adapter like I suggest, you can install the hard drive in a computer as a slave drive, and see if you can access the data.

Can i attach hard drive in ps2

You have to format the external drive to a PFS filesystem using WinHIIP. From what I've read you will probably have to put a mod chip in it also.

Chipped PS2 suddenly stopped reading

That is strange how the boot-up sequence can change. When You bought it, it sounds like it got mod-chipped when you bought it. if are one on the techy side of life then you can open your ps2 and look for one (google mod chip). Also the chance of one being there is higher because it can play copied games. Even though you bought it with the copied games, 1) copied games are illegal, and , 2) PS2's shouldn't be able to play copied games cause it wasn.t designed too.

I hope i helped,

How format hard disk of ps2

In order for your PC to 'see' the drive, you need WinHIIP or PS2Handiness. If you don't do that, XP won't see it.

Honestly, if you own the old console, the big, fat PS2, I would recommend HD Loader/HD Advance and a hard drive in the back of the PS2. If you own the new, slim PSTwo, then go with USBExtreme. It's still new and it has a dismal success rate with games. And it's slower than if you had a HD in the back of your PS2.

HDL/HDA automatically format your HD when you stick in the disk.

Found all this here:

Best of luck!

How can load games in my ps2 hdd from computel untill the hdd has no partion so my computer is not showing the drive

The PS2 Hard Drive format is not and will not be recognizable through windows. You need a special program called WinHIIP .::Click Me to Download::. This program will detect the partition. Then you just either upload things like games via ISO format or you can download them to your computer. Just because windows doesn't see the partition doesn't mean that it's not there. As long as your computer's BIOS see's the hard drive WinHIIP will detect the partition from it.

Hope that helps,

PS2 HDD Partition Error

A Partition error is the amount of segments that the hard-drive is split into.
For example we have 1 hard-drive Named C:/ Which Is 20 gigabytes. Then we decide that we want to use A Quarter of that drive, solely for saving games On. So 5 gigabytes Will Now Be allocated For Game-saves, This Will be known as Partition 2 Or D:/ So we now have 2 Partitions 1 is C:/ And 1 Is D:/ Partition C:/ is Currently 15 Gigabytes, And Partition D:/ is 5 Gigabytes.
Making a total Of 20 Gigabytes. So if your getting a partition error, it,s either because the game your attempting to transfer Is larger than the Partition, thats trying to receive it. You may be sending 4 gig to a 3.5 gig partition. Or your attempting to send it to a partition that is incorrect or inadequately lettered/numbered.
I hope this enables you to understand, the basics of Partitions on drives.

Copying games from PS2HDD to PS2 HDD using enclosure

Yep, the program you want is called WinHiip (easily googleable) Its a special program that reads PS2 Hard Drives only. DO KEEP IN MIND: you must have either an enclosure or put it on the IDE/SATA cable on your computer so your BIOS will detect it. WINDOWS WILL NOT DETECT THESE PS2 FORMATTED HARD DRIVES. However that does not matter, as long as your BIOS sees it. If your bios sees it, all is good, boot into windows and load WinHIIP. It will detect it. If you're using an enclosure then it really doesn't matter. Plug that into your USB port and turn it on. Your plug and play will recognize the enclosure. After windows sees it turn on WinHIIP and choose the "Select Drive" button and you should see your hard drive in the list. Then it's just a matter of choosing the "Copy Drive" option. Or take each out by it's own. Meaning "Extract Image/s" This will save them as ISO's on your computer then you just pop in your new drive and turn on WinHiip again and "add images" Back onto the new hard drive.

How to boot the hardisk in ps2 with matrix mod chip?

Well you got half of it correct lol. Here's your problem, you don't have what xbox would refer to as a dashboard. Meaning you don't have the software installed to navigate your Hard Drive. On top of that you don't need a mod chip at all to do what you're doing. Here I posted a forum post on this topic a while ago on my site(i'm error btw it's my post) So if you have any further questions feel free to send me a message on my forums. Yes this is referred to as a Soft Mod. And it's a full tutorial from A to Z with pictures. This page gives you all the software you need and full detail on setting up your memory card to boot your hard drive. The program for that is called HD Advance btw. The only program you shouldn't need that i've included in my tutorial is Cogswap. Since you have a mod chip installed you shouldn't need to do any swapping at all.

How to convert ps2 game in hard disk plz sol me

You need a mod chip to burn PS2 games from your hard drive and play them on your PS2. Plain and simple look up a guide for modding PS2's and buy a mod chip for roughly 40-60$ and you're all set.
