Question about Westinghouse LTV-32w1 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

Channel changing by itself.

I have a Westinghouse 32 inch LCD. On the local feed of Fox, the channel will change by itself from 18.1 to 18.3 which is the local weather radar. I notice this mostly or exclusively happens during commercials. I have edited 18.3 out of my active channels, but when this happens it comes right back. This is unbelievably annoying. Has anyone else had this issue? Is this something the local Fox channel is doing? Could it be the TV? I do not have this issue on my other HD tv that gets its OTA signal from my DISH receiver. I purchased the TV from best buy over 2 weeks ago and need to decide what to do.

Re: Channel changing by itself.

I will tell you that westinghouse is the worst company among other brands. If you have warranty, return it and buy a sony or panasonic with a little extra money. It will help you later from buying another TV that is also as crappy as westinghouse's.

Same thing... suddenly will not "allow" one channel to be seen

go to tv menu, do an "autoprogram" and it will select all available channels.
You can also do an add/remove channel and manually delete the channels you know you don't have.
You can also change your tv from air to CATV (cable) On cable tv you can still get all the air channels and Fox just the numbers will be different, but you may have a better signal

Sound on 2 channels a problem

I diconnected a recently acquired Panasonic DVR which was hooked up between my TV and the cable signal source, but this had no immediate effect on the two channels. I then reset the TV by unplugging it over night, and by changing the settings on the sound menu. These actions removed the problem. Is it possible that the DVR caused the problem?

Westinghouse LTV-32w4 HDC - adjustment buttons unresponsive, volume drop, etc.

plug your cable connection to a vcr "in" then run a seperate cable cord from the vcr "out" to your television (which should be on channel 3 or 4) depending on your vcr setting and use the vcr to control the channel so when your westinghouse freezes and becomes unresponsive you could still change the channel and so on through your vcr and tv acts like a monitor works for me. N.B be sure to set the volume and so on before it freezes which could be like a 1min window from turning your tv on

Insignia 32 inch LCD TV: Can not change Channel or Volume !

I have one in my shop with the same problem. Power is the only function that works. I repaired the power supply six monts ago. Now it looks like a bad digital processor board which is non-repairable. I can't believe what's happened to the tv business. Absolutely disgusting!
