Question about InFocus X1 Multimedia Projector
The output to the screen is dim, so dim the only way to view the screen is to blacken the room completely.
There could be several reasons for this problem.
1. New lamp needed.
2. New lamp did not fix? Could be mirror tunnel behind the color wheel than can collapse causing "dim" light source or dark lines.
3. All items "greyed" out caused when the unit does not sense a source input, ie computer or tv tuner. After connecting to a source, you should be able to go and adjust contrast and/or brightness settings

I suspect your projector's light tunnel has collapsed. Refer to http://www.fixya.com/support/t401456-infocus_x3_video_problem to see how I fixed my LG (it only has a partially collapsed tunnel though).
