Re: monior

It sounds me that either you have something wrong in making connection or some thing is loose in your monitor. it does not seem to be a major problem, call tech person to do it.

LCD monitor turns off

I have had the same problem as others seem to have had with the dell flat panel. After leaving the screen on for some time, the monitor brightens for a moment, then goes black, while the green light stays on. When I reboot, it works again for some time, or if I remove the cable for a few minutes and plug it back in (with monitor turned off) it will come back on...only to repeat the black screen. I have changed the power features, screen resolution, downloaded updated drivers from dell, and viewed dells troubleshooting advice on the monitor cd that came with the computer. Nothing directly advises on this problem, but I have read here and in other online message boards the exact same problem. Anyone able to fix this?

The monitor keeps going into auto power save and remains black. Have turned off and on, unplugged, waited and plugged back in. Have unplugged from computor and plugged back in. Will not get off of power...

It more likely went into shutdown, but try it on another PC first, if it still does not work, then read below:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Dell monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

The max resolution for this monior is 1024 x 768 @60Hz. You will get the error message if the video resolution is too high to display.

I gt a used montor from work and I can't raise it

The button is being held of the pressure of the weight of the screen itself, so pushing it would be hard. Trying pushing down or pulling up the monitor while you're pressing down the button.

My monotor its all black but u can

This should be an (LCD) screen. They are the ones that usually have this kind of problem. You will need to take it to have it checked if the problem is the VGA signal cable leading to the monitor. They will check if it is properly connected or has gone bad. It is very unlikely that the screen is bad. When this VGA signal cable goes bad it could result in a totally blank screen.

Monitors comes on for a few seconds then goes black. the only way is to turn it on and off but still only stays on for a couple for seconds

I think the power board might be going bad in there. Hook up a different good working monitor to the computer and see what happenss.

If the monitor still turns off after a few seconds then you know its the video card acting up. If the monitor stays on then you know its the original monitor that is bad for sure.

When the computer is turned on the monitor goes off. Then when I unplug it and plug it back in it comes on and stays on until I turn the computer off and back on again.

My monitor goes black but I can faintly see the images on the screen. It was said here that it appeared to be capacitors. What can do?

3 monitors on dell vostro 200

Go to your bios and check if your bios allow that. Usually if you connect a card on the motherboard slot automatically the on board card becomes unavailable.
If your bios doesn't allow to make changes you can add another pci video card or connect some vga split signal to get the image on 3, 4, or more monitors with a single device.
