I'm performing a fresh install of Office Home and Student 2007 on a new laptop running Vista. Early in the installation I receive an error "Setup can not find Office.en-us\msvcr80.dll. Browse to find a valid installation source and then click OK" This file doesn't appear in the Office.en-us folder; the only subfolder is "1033".

Many people have found that when you update to 2007 the msoxmlmf.dll file is moved from c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\office 11\msoxmlmf.dll to c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\office 12\msoxmlmf.dll. When I moved it back to office 11 location everything worked fine. BTW, I had the same error. Good luck Richard

You can solved this problem just be deleting or renaming the file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\MSOXMLMF.DLL.

I would download the .dll from the web here: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dll-files.com%2Fdllindex%2Fdll-files.shtml%3Fmsvcr80&ei=7YICR_rgHJC8iAG_4uHoBg&usg=AFQjCNFzr7bR02PRvF6GekfKBPg44ewNkQ&sig2=GALnA4f7qAQx1fb_3wWsMA and place it in your win32 directory of your pc. Should fix the error.

Did you remove the previous versions too? With 2007 Office, chances are, some data from the previous versions are left behind. What you can do is find if the older versions are still in your computer and remove them. Then try installing the 2007 Office. If the problem still persists, you can contact the vendor of the CD for a replacement.

Msvcr80.dll is missing from computer system error

Downlaod Msvcr80.dll here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr80
Download the zip file, don't download the fixer recommended in this website:

Extract "Msvcr80.dll" to a location on your computer. We recommend you to unzip it to the directory of the program that is requesting "Msvcr80.dll"

If that doesn't work, you will have to extract Msvcr80.dll to your system directory. By default, this is:

C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP, Vista, 7)

If you use a 64-bit version of Windows, you should also place WDSUTIL.dll in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\
Make sure overwrite any existing files (but make a backup copy of the original file).
Reboot your computer.

For Instant Fix use Reginout system utility.

Once the "save is [Complete]; 'scan the file with a "AntiVirus" Software. If the 'scan is clean? You can "Download the file on your Computer" I hope this information is helpful? No MS Excel is a part of the MS Office suite and comes seperately from some computers. Some brand new computers may come with a trial of the office suite, but not all computers come with office on it.

Theres a plugin that was recently added or modified that crashes your Microsoft Excel. If you still have the CD with you, I recommend that you UNINSTALL first the whole MS Office suit, restart, then REINSTALL the whole MS Office suit.

Msvcr80.dll file

Download it from
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr80
(Click the highlighted text "Click here to go to the download of msvcr80.dll"). Remember where you are downloading it. After the download has been completed, run Yahoo IM setup again, and when prompted for this DLL file, show program the path. When it recognizes the file, the setup should finish the installation (or asks for another DLL file. You can search and download them from the link above and use the same procedure)
